A Rockstar and a Father, Yoon Do-hyun
If you see him on stage, you would have not imagined how lovable he is towards his family, and especially his daughter. In Korea, there is this term 딸바보 (ddal babo) which roughly translates as a fool for daughter. This term is usually used for parents who would do anything for their daughter and who think their daughter is the most beautiful human ever lived. Same goes with Yoon Do-hyun.
But before we discuss about his daughter and how whipped he is for her, let’s get to know more about Yoon Do-Hyun first!

Yoon Do-hyun’s Early Life and Career
Yoon Do-hyun was born in Imjin-myeon (currently Munsan-eup) in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. In 1991, he graduated from Munsan High School, and began to show his interest in the music industry in 1993 when he worked around Paju’s music circles as part of the band called Jongyiyeon (종이연).
In 1994, Yoon Do-hyun released his debut solo album, In Front of the Post Office in Autumn (가을 우체국 앞에서). It has several hit singles like “Tarzan” and “Love Two,” however the album did not receive much commercial success since dance music was much more popular at the time.
Yoon Do-hyun formed the eponymously named Yoon Do-hyun Band in 1996, with himself on vocals, Kim Jin-won on the drum, Yoo Byung-yeol on the guitar, and Park Tae-hee on the bass. Later that year, he starred in Kim Hong-joon’s film that recounts the rise and fall of a fictitious, underground band titled Jungle Story as the lead role along with his band.
However, the band did not really popped out in the music market which led to the Yoon Do-hyun Band almost disbanding in 2000, and guitarist Yoo Byung-yeol left the band and was replaced by Huh Joon. However, during the 2002 world cup, the band skyrocketed to fame with the World Cup cheer song Victory Korea! (오 필승코리아). With its superb live performances and Yoon Do-hyun’s powerful voice and sincere personality onstage, the Yoon Do-hyun Band eventually became one of the foremost rock bands in South Korea, selling more than 2 million albums and doing more than 100 live concerts.
In 2005, they renamed the band into YB, and it was the first Korean band to ever tour Europe and have two sold-out concerts in New York City (Nokia Theater, B.B King Blues Club) in 2006. YB was also the subject of two rockumentaries (Documentary for Rock music), Kim Tae-yong’s On the Road, Two (2006) and Moon Cheung-heum’s Flying Butterfly (2010). In 2015, YB celebrated its 20th anniversary with a series of sold-out concerts titled 20 Years Old.
Not only active as a singer, Yoon Do-hyun also acted in several musicals and films, appeared in several tv shows, and also experienced in radio DJ and hosting as well. You can check out the complete list below.

Yoon Do-hyun’s Daughter
Yoo Do-hyun married a musical actress Lee Mi-ok on June 15, 2002 and have one daughter named Yoon Yi-jung. Yoon Do Hyun’s daughter has him wrapped around her little finger. At their recent trip to Hawaii together, Yoon Do Hyun learned how to hoola dance and also looked for a rainbow with his daughter. He showed the most tender and sensitive side of him through her. Anyone could tell that his love for his daughter is greater than anything else.

Last August on JTBC’s Give Me a Meal, Yoon Do-Hyun shared that his daughter who is in middle school is a huge fan of BTS. He then said, “Recently, BTS member Jin covered my song (“Autumn Outside the Post Office”). That became a big present for me because I finally gained my daughter’s approval. Finally.” The hosts burst out laughing at the thought of Yoon Do Hyun, Korea’s representative rocker of 25 years, being accepted for such a reason.
