BTS’s Jung-kook: From a Cover in 2014 to a Duet on KBS Song Festival in 2015

In 2014, a week after Zion.T’s single “Yanghwa BRDG” was released, BTS’s Golden Maknae, Jung-kook, posted a cover of the song on BTS’s blog, although he did make some changes to the title and some of the lyrics. He gave his adapted cover of the song the title “Working”. He has a different family background from Zion.T’s, and he wanted to put it in lyrics, so that’s why he modified the title and some of the lyrics of the song. However, the major conceit is the same as the original. Both the songs, the cover and the original, tell a story about how he used to be as a child who was still clueless and had his parents to support his life, but now he realizes that he is in the place where he always used to see someone else who succeeded. Through the lyrics, we can see that it tells a family story that compares his father’s path to Yanghwa bridge.
