Past Member: Sohee’s Solo Activities
Are you curious about Wonder Girls’ past members’ activities? This time, we’re going to talk about Ahn So-hee!
Ahn So-hee left Wonder Girls and JYP Entertainment back in 2013, choosing to pursue an acting career and not renewing her contract as a member of a girl-group. Her contract with JYP Entertainment expired on December 21, 2013, ending her six years as a Wonder Girls member.
Ahn So-hee signed with management agency BH Entertainment in 2014, after leaving Wonder Girls and former agency, JYP Entertainment. She starred in the romantic comedy series Heart to Heart on tvN the same year, playing an aspiring actress. Ahn So-hee then left BH Entertainment on September 21, 2015, as she decided not to renew her contract with them. She signed with KeyEast later.
In 2016, she starred in South Korea’s first zombie film, Train to Busan, playing a high school student and a loyal supporter of the baseball team. On May 13, 2016, the film premiered at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival in the Midnight Screenings section, and later exceeded 11 million admissions. Despite the success of the film, Ahn So-hee received criticism for her acting performance.
She appeared in 2017 with Lee Byung-hun and Gong Hyo-jin in the thriller movie Single Rider, where she received praise for her depiction of a lone teenager. She also acted in 2018 as Anu, a vibrant and assertive Mongolian female, with Yeon Woo-jin as Hyuga, a pure-hearted Mongolian man, in Anu and Hyuga, also known as Mongolian Love Story.
Ahn So-hee was cast as one of the female lead roles in Welcome to Waikiki 2‘s in 2019. In July 2019, she starred as a mysterious woman in the short film, Memories.
We wish her all the best in her career as an actress!
