Actress Son Eun-seo was born under the name of Son Ji-yeon on June 26, 1986. Her hometown is Busan, South Korea. Before becoming an actress, she had studied and majored in Broadcast and Entertainment at Dongduk Women’s University. She is currently active under Jump Entertainment. She was already active in 2006, but she made her first appearance in a commercial film (CF) with SNSD’S Yoona.
She made her acting debut in 2008 by appearing in the movie Humming. The same year, she was cast in the OCN drama Don’t Ask Me About The Past. Even though she was active since 2006, her name remained unknown to the public until she was cast in the drama Love Rain. She became an honorary ambassador for the 13th Jeonju International Film Festival together with Lim Seul-ong, a former member of 2AM’s, the same year the drama was aired. Her most recent famous drama is Voice, which was aired on OCN.

Son Eun-seo’s Drama
Son Eun-seo began her acting career in 2008 by starring in the OCN drama Don’t Ask Me About The Past, playing a supporting role. After a one-year break, she returned to the screen with the KBS drama The Queen Returns, playing Kim Ye-na, one of the supporting characters in the drama. The next year, she appeared again in Flames of Desire, a drama telling the story of a conglomerate family that falls apart because of succession matters.
Her career took off in 2011 when she received many offers, and she even starred in three dramas. She appeared in two KBS’ dramas, Spy Myung-Wol with SHINHWA’s Eric Mun, Lee Jin-wook and Han Ye-seul as the main characters, and Noriko, Go to Seoul as a Radio DJ. She also starred in the SBS drama My Daughter the Flower, which tells the story of a mother and daughter who are not related by blood. She later started to get attention when she starred in Love Rain and reunited again with her first CF co-star SNSD’s Yoona.
After the drama Love Rain, her career path started to open and opened up many opportunities for her to appear in dramas, such as My Love from the Star, The Eccentric Daughter-in-Law, Hey Ghost, Let’s Fight, Voice and many more. She also made an appearance as a guest in Reply 1988 and Switch: Change the World dramas. Even though she appeared in many dramas, she still hasn’t gotten the chance to play a leading role. She mostly acted roles of supporting characters.
Recently, she was cast in Voice 2, which finished airing in September 2018. In the drama, she has to act as one of the emergency call center officers, named Park Eun-soo, who’s also able to speak in foreign languages fluently. She is one of Golden Time Team’s members, a team who has tried to solve many emergency cases within the golden time. In the first season, there was a case involving her younger sister’s kidnapping. While in the second season, the case involved herself, where she had to deal with her abusive ex-boyfriend’s obsessiveness. In 2019, the drama is scheduled to air its third season, so let’s hope we can see her acting again in the next season!
Son Eun-seo’s Movies
So far, Son Eun-seo has acted in six movies in total. The first was the movie where she made her acting debut, Humming, which aired in 2008. In this movie, she got to act as a veterinarian. After her appearance in Humming, she started to get leading roles in most of her movies.
In 2009, she appeared in two movies, If You Were Me 4 in the segment “Relay,” and A Blood Pledge, as one of the main characters named So-yi. She also starred in Private Island and Tumbleweed, both aired in 2013. Her most recent movie was released in 2016, namely Duel: Final Round, where she met her current boyfriend Lee Joo-seung.
Besides movies, Son Eun-seo has also appeared in music videos, such as Jay Park’s “Star,” Seo In-guk’s “Tease Me,” Seulong’s “New You” and others.
