In 2017, Twice started the year by releasing the reissue album from their 3rd extended play called TWICEcoaster: Lane 1 entitled TWICEcoaster: LANE 2. Under JYP Entertainment, Twice released TWICEcoaster: LANE2 on February 20, 2017, with “Knock Knock” set as the lead single with the total number of tracks included on this album being 13 tracks. Story Behind Twicecoaster: Lane 2 by Twice

Twice announced the release of the special album on January 18, 2017, after they finished their concert in Seoul. Twice was planning to release a special album for the reissue of their 3rd extended play called TWICEcoaster: LANE 1 entitled TWICEcoaster: LANE 2. The reissue was set to be released on February 20, 2017.

The reissue consists of 13 tracks with 7 tracks being taken from the EP TWICEcoaster: LANE 1, 2 additional new tracks, and 4 bonus tracks for the physical version. The 2 new additional tracks are “Knock Knock” which is set as the lead single and “Ice Cream (녹아요; Nogayo, lit. “Melting”)” as the second track.

JYP Entertainment released the group concept photos as well as the individual photo teasers on February 16, 2017. Then, 2 MV teasers for “Knock Knock” were also uploaded on JYP Entertainment’s official YouTube account on February 17 and 18 at midnight Korean time.

Sim Eun-jee was in charge of writing the lyrics of the lead single entitled “Knock Knock” alongside Min Lee “collapsedone” and Mayu Wakisaka who also worked to compose the music for “Knock Knock.” Sam Lewis, Chloe, Noday, Jowul, and many other artists also participated in writing the lyrics for the other sidetracks that are included on the album.
