Let’s Check The Handsome and Muscular Changmin TVXQ

Changmin, who born in Seoul, February 18, 1988, was scouted by SM Entertainment when he was only fourteen years old. One of talent agents saw him singing and playing badminton during gym class. He then got an offer to do an audition, since he didn’t currently have a goal to be a singer, Changmin almost rejected the offer. His mother insisted he try the audition, since she dreamed of meeting BoA. After going through a multi-stage audition process, he was accepted and became a trainee.

In January 2008, he was volunteered to help cleaning a beach in Taean, along with his father, helping clean up the worst oil spill that has ever happened in South Korea. He can speak Japanese fluently. He was graduated from Gaepo High School in 2006 and continued to study, majoring in postmodern music in Kyunghee University in 2009 and pursued a second degree in Film and Arts at Konkuk University. He also pursued a master’s degree at Inha University. Moreover, he has passion for photography and become a student of photographer Kim Young-joon.

Changmin’s House

In first episode of the variety show “I Live Alone”, Changmin’s house was revealed for the first time. Changmin’s house looked so clean and tidy. Before this, Changmin was living together with Yunho from TVXQ. But since Yunho often brought his friends over at night and sang and danced in the morning, the loud surroundings weren’t a good match with Changmin’s style. Sometimes he needs rest at night after he’s done with work. He finally decided to leave and find his own house, he said during an interview for the show. Other than that, that he agreed that he never got bored living with Yunho.

In the morning, he made his own stew by boiling anchovies for the broth. All the hosts were fascinated with Changmin’s cooking skills. He said he wanted to have long life with a healthy liver, so he was better off cooking his own food food rather than buying it.

Cooking Class

On the next episode Changmin took cooking class. He said that he loved to cook since cooking would give him a healthy liver and a long life. He took a cooking class for a month, along with several other people.

Changmin could be called a secret cooking master. He understands how to make everything from kimbap to chicken with abalone.

Guitar Practice

Not only did Changmin take a cooking class, he also learned how to play guitar. It was preparation to get ready for the 4th Industrial Revolution.

He claimed that his guitar was for a beginner, but the guitarist who was teaching him said that his guitar was rare and hard to find in South Korea. The guitar that he was using is worth ten million won, which is around $1000 USD. He used it as a beginner’s guitar, and because of this he said that he was a “young chaebol”, a  term to describe conglomerates in South Korea.

Related to his guitar, there were gold and silver guitar picks made for Changmin in February, 2014, which were spotted by the pick-maker in “I Live Alone”.

Personal Trainer at Home

He also does his workouts at home. Inviting in a personal trainer, he looked amazing during work out.

Learned Japanese By Himself

In episode 237, he could be studying for his cooking class, practicing guitar, or exercising, but he was also teaching himself Japanese while he was eating.

He learned Japanese on his own by writing it word by word and studying by himself.

In his spare time, he also watched news during dinner, while drinking wine, to improve his knowledge and his competitiveness.

Reporter Shim At Jeju Market

On MBC’s “I Live Alone”, Changmin was taking a holiday to Jeju island and visited Jeju Market. At the market he bought rice cakes, citrus fruit, and chocolates. He was really cute when he was trying all the sample foods in the market. The seller was looking happy, with a bright smile when she was watching him. Finally, he bought a black pork barbecue, which is a Jeju specialty.

He admitted that he felt changes in his body. He said, “My body is weak these days. In the summer it’s too hot and in the winter it’s too cold.”

He added, “As I get older, it’s been harder for me to eat as much as I did before. I don’t eat as much now.” When asked how much he’d eaten before, he said, “In my prime, I would eat eight meals a day. I would have eight portions of ribs with three bowls of rice and two bowls of naengmyun (cold noodles). That was about 3-4 years ago.”

Going Hiking With Xiumin  from EXO

Xiumin from EXO went traveling with Changmin for “I Live Alone”. Even though, Xiumin and Changmin were friends and under the same label, SM Entertainment, Xiumin was a big fans of TVXQ long before he joined SM. Changmin was even one of the reasons he chose to join the label.

In this episode, Changmin woke up shirtless in his bed and then got up and started preparing a lunchbox. After that, he went to the airport and met Xiumin, who arrived happily and with open arms.

They went hiking to Hallasan (Halla Mountain), the famous mountain in Jeju. They had a smowball fight, sang the sone “Let It Go” together, and even made snow angels. They also had some snack while they were hiking. They did some funny things together, lovely 🙂

Fun Facts

One fun fact from the show is that Changmin’s body has been getting a lot of attention when he wakes up shirtless in the morning. Everyone in the show is talking about it and the host teased him by saying, “Maybe his stomach are in his chest.” Everyone  was bursting into laughter.

Changmin then explained, “I work out a lot.” Jun Hyun Moo commented, “I respect you for the fact that the waistband of your underwear doesn’t fold. We can’t see the logo [of our boxers] because it folds down.

The variety show “I Live Alone” starring Changmin got high ratings right after launching in television. From Nielsen Korea, the first episode had a 10.1 percent, and the second episode had an 11.6 percent audience share.

Latest News

Beside the concert that he’s doing with his group, TVXQ, Changmin also joined some variety shows on food topics and is getting to shoot in the United States.

Recently Changmin was going to Thailand for a photoshoot and interview with GRAZIA magazine. This is his second time visiting Bangkok, after TVXQ had a concert there.

On his Instagram account, he was recently showing his muscular body again by sunbathing shirtless in Thailand.
