6. 21st Century Girl

BTS has a dance practice video of this song and it’s one of the most iconic BTS videos ever, they wear costumes there to celebrate Halloween.
This song tells us that we are perfect as we are, so we don’t have to think too much about other people’s opinions about us. Other people may be discouraging and criticizing you, but you shouldn’t hear them and stay true to yourself. Their opinion shouldn’t make you feel bad about yourself because they can’t control you and you are beautiful as you are. Last message, BTS said that you deserve to be loved, so girls, you should also love yourself.

7. Moving On
This is a track from their 3rd mini album: The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt.1 (화양연화 pt.1) and The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever Album B. It’s a song about moving on after their trainee life, the struggle of living with so many people in a small house, but also that they also can become very close. They moved to a higher, bigger place from the dorm that witnessed their laughter, tears, and fights. Even though they are saying goodbye to that place, they still hold onto it as one of their treasured memories. This song reminds you to keep moving on despite all the struggle that you face because, in the end, success will come to you. This song is matched with their situation back then, they didn’t know that they will get their first win in a music show from this era with I Need U. Now, they’ve come from small company that got underestimated by everyone and have become the biggest and most successful boy-group not only in South Korea, but worldwide.
Listen to cheer you up!
Sea is a hidden track from their 5th mini album: Love Yourself 承 ‘Her’. This song can only be found in the physical album because it’s hidden. It starts with the sound of the waves crashing onto the shore followed by an electric guitar riff. You can feel the emotion that they try to share from this song. It talks about how if there’s is hope, there’s despair. The meaning behind sea and dessert that they always mention in this song. They tell you their story about when they just debuted. Coming from a small company, they were constantly cut from the broadcasts, wouldn’t be famous, the things that people always said and did to them in the past.
They’re always doubting how tomorrow will be different but they continue to run forward until one day the mirage comes, and they grabbed it after the blood, sweat, and tears that they put in. After the success it’s not the endpoint, there are still many more hardships that they should overcome in the future. For the short, BTS wants you to keep going on, to face the hardship, because one day you’ll find the sea after the desert.

9. Whalien 52
this is a track from The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt.2 (화양연화 pt.2) and The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever Album B. Are you wondering why BTS named this track Whalien 52? because it’s a song about whales. Strange? You should know the story behind the song. It’s true this song is about loneliness, but it’s that of a whale, not a human. In 1989, there was a whale that sang at a frequency of 52 Hz, which is not common since most whales sing at range from 10 – 40 Hz. Because of that, no one could hear it. He traveled a thousand miles, but still, no one heard him. He was alone and lonely. People know this whale as the “world’s loneliest whale”.
BTS also tried to convey the message that everyone experienced the feeling that their sound was unheard of by others, even if we scream at the top of our lungs. Adolescents, especially often feel alienation from other people. How their voice remains unheard by the older generation. It was the same with their early year debut, that because they came from small company, it was really hard to be heard by others.
