The Best Hit’s Ending
After sliding down the staircase into the year 2017, the viewers got to see Hyun-jae wake up in a hospital bed with his head bandaged. The nurse and doctor who were treating him said that Hyunjae bruised his head, hence the bandage. It turned out that Hyun-jae came back to June 17, 1994, because after giving his diagnosis, the medical personnel asked Hyun-jae for his autograph.
Hyun-jae went to the bathroom and pulled off his bandage, exposing his 2017 haircut. He accidentally met a doctor, who mentioned that he wasn’t scheduled for treatment that day. Hyun-jae remembers that there were two copies of his music notebook and personalized watch, and realizes that the Other Hyun-jae still exists in the universe, on that day. He called Kwang-jae to meet at a café, but little did they know that Young-jae, who overheard their phone conversation, followed Kwang-jae to the cafe.
Hyun-jae asked Kwang-jae to help him find ‘Yoo Hyun-jae’. Kwang-jae was ready to leave after being asked such an odd favor, but Hyun-jae kept him from going by saying that Kwang-jae would be able to find ‘Yoo Hyun-jae’, due to his wide network of contacts. Kwang-jae replied, quite hysterically, that he had already found ‘Yoo Hyun-jae’, while pointing at Hyun-jae.
Frustrated, Hyun-jae made up a story of an imposter going around claiming to be Yoo Hyun-jae. Kwang-jae began asking around, and confirmed that the other Yoo Hyun-jae had stopped by the studio and then headed down to Paju because of a family matter. Hyun-jae borrowed Kwang-jae’s car to track down the other Yoo Hyun-jae.
It turned out that the other Yoo Hyun-jae was spreading his parents’ ashes in the lake. He didn’t look well, and he said that he would be following his parents soon. The scene moved to the other Hyun-jae sitting in his car, looking sad, and you could hear a storm outside. Hyun-jae got in the car and introduced himself to the other Hyun-jae. Then he told his other self about what was coming: that the other Hyun-jae will go missing tonight, the futures of Bo-hee, Kwang-jae, CEO Lee, and Young-jae, the moment the other Hyun-jae won the Golden Cup, which is also the day the other Hyun-jae cuts ties with everyone, thinking that money only belonged to him, and that the fans still remember the other Hyun-jae, even in the future.
The other Hyun-jae asked for more information about Ji-hoon, and Hyun-jae said that he lives, as is a great kid. Hyun-jae said that they didn’t have much time, as he wanted to go back to the World Agency Building, and the two Hyun-jae’s rode Hyun-jae’s car because the other Hyun-jae’s car wasn’t running. Young-jae’s figure was shown stealing the other Hyun-jae’s music notebook.
The two Hyun-jae arrived at the World Agency Building very late at night, and Hyun-jae asked the other Hyun-jae to go down the stairs first, because the ride could send him to another reality where his illness would be cured. The other Hyun-jae refused, because he needed to take care his business in this universe. He also handed Hyun-jae a bead bracelet, asking him to give it to Ji-hoon. The other Hyun-jae pushed Hyun-jae down the stairs at 1:20 am, thanking him for coming.
Back to 2017, Ji-hoon and MC Drill are preparing for their debut as Jay-B (the name chosen by CEO Lee) on a weekly music show, and Kwang-jae is acting as their road manager. At the broadcasting station, the duo meet Hye-ri, who is a member of trendy girl-group. On the other hand, Woo-seung works as the team leader and the only employee of the World Agency Office, and MJ, sitting in Kwang-jae’s chair, is busy writing down his own songs.
Fast forward to the scene of Kwang-jae’s proposal to Bo-hee. That night he asked an employee to hide the ring in some ice cream, which he ended up eating by mistake, and hee and Bo-hee went to the hospital to get him an x-ray. Despite the failed proposal at the restaurant, Kwang-jae still asked Bo-hee to marry him, saying that he has ‘swallowed’ those words for twenty years, as well as the ring, which Bo-hee accepted. They also legally adopted Mal-sook as their child.
After missing him so many times, Woo-seung was able to meet Hyun-jae once again. They kissed deeply and talked in the park about the other Hyun-jae. They went to Woo-seung’s flat and she made him a homemade dinner. Hyun-jae also met Kwang-jae, saying that he would never do time travel again because the last time he did he nearly got killed. Kwang-jae asked Hyun-jae to train singers and work as a songwriter under Kwang-jae’s agency.
The four young people gathered on the roof, holding a small party for Jay-B’s debut. Woo-seung complained that she felt stuck on her songwriting, so MC Drill joked that she would be a good civil worker instead of a songwriter. Even so, Woo-seung promised that she would give her first good song to Jay-B. All of them raised their cans of beer in a toast, along with Ji-hoon’s narration that their best days are yet to come, so the present and everything they do are precious.
The finale wrapped up with the sweet epilogue of Hyun-jae and Woo-seung kissing on the rooftop.

The Best Hit‘s OST
As the series is full of the dreams of youth, The Best Hit was sometimes bittersweet. Given that, it was important to choose the right songs to emphasize the characters’ emotions in certain scenes. As a result, The Best Hit’s original soundtracks are mainly composed by the phenomenal composer Rocoberry, who is known for his masterpieces contained in the original soundtracks of Goblin, Descendant of the Sun, and Scarlet Heart Ryeo Won. The first song included in The Best Hit soundtrack that you need to hear, is Dream by Younha. Reportedly, Kim Min-jae rapped on this track.
The second song from The Best Hit soundtrack that you may want to listen to is Tonight, which is sung by BoA and features rapper Mad Clown. Contrary to the previous song, Tonight is a sweet and slow-paced song that perfectly depicted the lovey-dovey moments of the drama’s characters.
Besides the two songs introduced earlier, The Best Hit soundtrack also included other tracks, namely Beautiful Beautiful, by Punch, Glabingo and Light in the Sky by Yoon Mi-rae, The Night Sky by Block B’s Kyung, If You by Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, and My Love by T-ara.
