Who is Jiyeon’s Boyfriend?

Currently, Jiyeon is reportedly single since her last breakup with her recent ex, Lee Dong-gun after dating for one and a half year. The two became close after working together on a Korean-Chinese movie.

According to an industry insider on July 4 2015, Lee Dong-gun and Jiyeon have progressed their relationship into being a couple about two months ago. A source is said to have revealed, “It is true that the two of them are dating. They quickly became close in May while filming for the Korean-Chinese co-production ‘Encounter’ (working title) together.

The rumors kicked off after photos of the two on a date began to make its rounds online and have been gaining much attention. In the pictures, the two of them can be seen being affectionate with one another, as they hold hands.

Both sides have officially confirmed that Jiyeon and Lee Dong-gun are currently in a relationship.

On July 4 2015, a representative of MBK Entertainment shared with TV Report, “It is true that Jiyeon is currently dating Lee Dong-gun. They became close after filming their movie together.” A representative of FNC Entertainment also confirmed, “After checking with the actor himself, the two are in the stage of meeting with interest. It has been about a month since they have gotten close after first meeting for movie filming.”

However, in early 2017, the couple was reported to have ended their relationship.

On February 1, an industry source stated, “They recently decided to end their relationship as a couple and remain as colleagues. They separated naturally just like any ordinary couple would because they were unable to meet up frequently due to their busy schedules.”

Later on, Jiyeon’s agency MBK Entertainment had confirmed that she is no longer dating Lee Dong-gun, and stated that they broke up around December of last year. They also said that the former couple continues to support each other.

On the other hand, Lee Dong-gun’s agency FNC Entertainment has also confirmed reports of their breakup, citing their focus on work as the cause.

Surprisingly, 3 months after their breakup, Lee Dong-gun married with actress Jo Yoon-hee whom he had been dating only 2 months!

Dispatch’s photos shocked fans as Lee Dong-gun had just ended a 2 year relationship with T-ara’s Jiyeon in February, 2017. It was just 26 days later after breaking up with T-ara’s Jiyeon, and he was dating his new girlfriend. Meanwhile, Lee Dong-gun confirmed he started dating Jo Yoon-hee after filming their drama, Laurel Tree Tailors, together.

He wrote his fans an official statement regarding the pregnancy and sudden marriage in a letter to his fans.

“Hello this is Lee Dong-gun.
I’m posting this because I believe that [my fans] should be the first to know.
I’d like to let everyone know that actress Jo Yoon Hee and I have recently become a married couple, after growing the love and trust we have for each other. We are now legally married, after handing in our marriage application.
During the preparations to get married, Jo Yoon Hee and I were welcomed by a new life and we are now waiting for our child [to be born] with excitement.

I plan to focus on my new drama The Queen Of The 7th. After we discuss things with our parents, we plan to hold a small wedding ceremony with our close family members.
I’m concerned by how all of you who have supported and cherished me will all receive this news. But, I made this decision in order to become a happier person and better actor. I hope that I’ll be able to receive your blessings.
I hope you can look upon me with fondness.”

— Lee Dong-gun

Fans were speculating that this issue has a big influence to the decision of Lee Dong-gun and Jiyeon’s breakup. But after all, Lee Dong-gun has a new family and we only can wish the best to her little family! Congratulations!
