Profile of Super Junior’s Lee Donghae: Girlfriend, Abs, Family, Dramas, Hairstyle, and Plastic Surgery


In August 2014, Super Junior’s seventh album, Mamacita was released,  where Donghae also contributed music and lyrics to their second single, “Shirt”. In March 2015, D & E Korea’s first album, The Beat Goes On was released. Donghae participated in the album production in collaboration with producer Team One Sound to write lyrics and compose two songs, the main single “Growing Pains” and the side single “Mother”.

In July 2015, Super Junior’s special album Devil was released to celebrate the group’s 10th birthday. Donghae also participated in the production of albums by writing lyrics and composing two songs, “Do not Wake Me Up” and “Alright”.

On September 2, 2015, S.M. Entertainment announced that Lee Donghae would be registered as a conscription police officer on October 15, 2015. Donghae entered through the Nonsan Army Training Center in Chungnam on his birthday.

Donghae completed his military service on July 14, 2017 after serving for 21 months . After completing his military service, he and fellow Super Junior member Eunhyuk, held a fan meeting for Super Junior-D & E Hello Again on July 23 at the Sejong University Daeyang Hall and participated in the VI TOWN Live World Tour VI in Japan on July 27 -28.

On September 27, 2017, the Super Junior website started the countdown until November 6 – their 12th anniversary – announcing it as their comeback date for their 8th album. SJ Returns – Super Junior Real Comeback Story, a reality show featuring the development of the idol groups from their album, began airing on October 9th. Donghae participated in the album production where he co-wrote with Eunhyuk and JDUB as well as co-composed with JDUB for the pre-release single “One More Chance”. On October 30, 2017, the music video for “One More Chance” was released as a pre-release song for the upcoming album. On November 6, 2017 the 8th Super Junior Album “Play” was released to honor Super Junior’s 12th anniversary.

On November 2017, Donghae and Eunhyuk announced their comeback as the Super Junior D & E duo group in Japan, where they will start a series of monthly releases of Japanese singles. They will release one song every month starting from November 2017, and some time later in 2018, compile all the singles and release them into full Japanese albums.

On November 29, they released their first Japanese single from the series, titled “Here We Are”. One month later, on December 26, D & E released their second Japanese single, “You Do Not Go”. On December 2017, Donghae collaborated with Cadillac, where Donghae wrote lyrics and composed “Perfect” a track for Cadillac.

Due to the success of SJ Returns, in January 2018, Donghae and fellow Super Junior members started Super TV’s new variety program where various entertainment formats were remade and twisted in Super Junior’s own way. The first season released with 12 episodes and Donghae was nicknamed ‘0-hae’ due to his lack of variety skills.

On January 31, 2018, SUPER JUNIOR-D & E released a third Japanese single entitled “If You” written and composed by Donghae. On February 28, 2018, SUPER JUNIOR-D & E released a fourth Japanese single titled “Circus”.

On March 28, 2018, the duo continued their ongoing Japanese series, the fifth single, entitled “Lose It “. The music video was released in three episodes. The episode was released on March 28, 2018, March 30, 2018, and April 1, 2018. On April 2, 2018, the full version of the music video was later released.


Lee Dong-Hae’s Personal Life

Military Service

On September 2, 2015, SM Entertainment announced that Lee Dong-hae would register as a conscription police officer on October 15, 2015. Donghae entered through the Nonsan Army Training Center in Chungnam on his birthday. He completed his service on July 14, 2017.


Donghae said at first that he would open his relationship to the public if he was still unsure about his girl. In a recent interview, Donghae revealed that he did not want to open his relationship with the public, until he actually tied the knot. The idol expressed his desire to establish a relationship. However, his comments about keeping his relationship in secret clearly made people doubt whether he really didn’t have a girlfriend.

Donghae explained, “Being emotional and my experience helped me a lot to make music. Music can express when you like someone or when you part with your loved ones.” Donghae added, “I planned to get married when I turned 28 years old. However, I am now 31 years old and my dreams have not yet materialized. I believe that I will get married someday.”
