Artists under SM Entertainment banner hold a SMTOWN concert in Santiago, Chile, on January 18-19. Unfortunately Super Junior’s group leader, Leeteuk, was unable to participate in the first day’s concert. What happened to Leeteuk?

According to Super Junior’s agency, SJ Label, Leeteuk did not allow to take part in the concert the first day because of his deteriorating health condition. Leeteuk was diagnosed with enteritis or acute intestinal inflammation so that he was not allowed to carry out strenuous activities, including performing on a concert stage.

Leeteuk wrote a message for fans and revealed his health condition through his Instagram account, @xxteukxx. According to Leeteuk, the illness he experienced at this time was still related to cholecystectomy or removal of the gallbladder he had done last year.

“Because of last year’s cholecystectomy, I can’t digest food as usual, so I often experience stomach aches and diarrhea,” Leeteuk wrote on January 20, 2019.

Leeteuk also revealed that in the past few days, he often experienced digestive disorders in the middle of busy filming, but because he felt he was still fine he was determined to take a 30-hour flight to Chile.

“Since five days ago, I had diarrhea while filming, but I thought it would be fine so I continued to travel for 30 hours to Chile, but my condition deteriorated. I want to apologize to fans who have waited a long time,”¬†said Leeteuk.
