Sunny’s Family

Sunny was born in Orange County, California, on May 15th, 1989. Her family consists of a father, named Lee Soo-young, mother, and two sisters who have big age differences with her; they are named Lee Eun-kyu and Lee Jin-kyu. Sunny and her sisters have the same birthday as her. Sunny’s uncle is the founder of SM Entertainment, Lee Soo-man. When she was still just a baby, her family immigrated to Kuwait. At that time, there was The Gulf War so they moved back to South Korea. Until now, Sunny is still startled when she hears the sound of fireworks because it reminds her of the war. She talked about this in the show Shin Dong-yeob, Shin Bong-sun Champagne.
“I was surprised at the stage effect when I was performing,” said Sunny.
As far as her education is concerned, Sunny graduated from Seoul Chungwoon Elementary School, Baehwa Girls Middle School, and Baehwa Girls High School.
