After being a trainee for about seven years in JYP Entertainment, Jo Kwon debuted with 2AM on July 11th, 2008, under JYP Entertainment. 2AM was a ballad male group that consisted of four members, who were: Jo Kwon, Lee Chang-min, Im Seu-long, and Jeong Jin-woon. Jo Kwon was chosen to be the group leader of 2AM.

2AM’s first single “This Song” was released on July 21st, 2008, on KBS’ Music Bank. They won their first Mutizen at Inkigayo on February 7th, 2010, with “Can’t Let You Go Even If I Die.” In March 2015, Jo Kwon renewed his contract with JYP Entertainment, while three other members of 2AM signed with other agencies.
