Shin Hye-sun played researcher Cha Si-ah who discovered strange artifacts from the Joseon era. It turned out that the artifacts belong to Dam-ryeong who has been using them as some sort of time capsule.
Cha Si-ah is Heo Joon-jae’s University junior who works in the field of archeology. Initially, she has feelings for Heo Joon-jae but later she gradually falls in love with Heo Joon-jae’s accomplice, Tae-oh the hacker. She finds out the secret of Heo Jeon-jae’s past and uncovers his identity.

This scene was the beginning of Cha Si-ah and Tae-oh’s love story. A fake love confession from Tae-oh turned out to be the beginning of a romantic relationship.

In the last episode of Legend of the Blue Sea, Shim Chung’s condition gets worse because she has been away from the ocean for too long. Heo Joon-jae agrees to let her go and return her to where she belongs. Shim Chung meets Cha Si-ah and her family by chance. Cha Si-ah vents her anger at Shim Chung because all the men that she falls in love with, Heo Joon-jae and Tae-oh, still have a crush on Shim Chung.
After leaving Heo Joon-jae and his friends, Shim Chung returns several years later and meets Cha Si-ah. Having her memories erased by Shim Chung, Cha Si-ah doesn’t recognize her. It turns out that Cha Si-ah is preparing to propose Tae-oh. It is a happy ending, both for the Heo Joon-jae x Shim Chung couple and the Cha Si-ah x Tae-oh couple.
