High School King of Savvy

High School King of Savvy is a 2014 South Korean television series starring Seo In-guk, Lee Ha-na, Lee Soo-hyuk, and Lee Yeol-eum. It aired on tvN from June 16th to August 11th, 2014, for a total of 17 episodes.


Lee Min-seok (Seo In-guk) is a high school student who plays ice hockey for his school. He and his older brother Hyung-seok look very much alike, despite their nine-year age gap. One day, when he gets a mysterious phone call from Hyung-seok telling him to impersonate his brother at the latter’s new job, Min-seok is forced to pretend to be a high-ranking executive at an IT conglomerate. At work, he meets Jung Soo-young (Lee Ha-na) who is a temporary employee there.


Thanks to the drama, In-guk got nominated at the 7th Korea Drama Awards in 2014 in the category for Excellence Award for Actor. He and Lee Ha-na also got nominated at the tvN10 Awards in 2016 for Best Kiss.

For the next 16 years, until he becomes the King, Prince Gwang-hae suffers through dethronement and death threats. Using physiognomy (the art of judging character from facial characteristics) as a weapon, he is able to become the King.

Hello Monster


Hello Monster is a South Korean television series starring Seo In-guk, Jang Na-ra, Choi Won-young, and Park Bo-gum. It aired on KBS2 from June 22nd to August 11th, 2015, for a total of 16 episodes.


The story follows Lee Hyun (Seo In-guk), who is an excellent criminal profiler, but possesses a spiteful tongue. He returns home to Korea after something from a case triggers a memory he thought he’d lost forever. Cha Ji-an (Jang Na-ra) is an elite detective and one of his team members who, unbeknownst to him, observes Lee Hyun and has been investigating him for quite some time. They work on solving cases and develop a romantic relationship.

Thanks to this drama, Seo In-guk got nominated at the 8th Korea Drama Awards and the 29th KBS Drama Awards for Actor Excellence Award.

Squad 38

Squad 38 is a South Korean television series starring Ma Dong-seok, Seo In-guk, and Choi Soo-young. It aired on the cable network OCN for 16 episodes from June 17th, 2016 to August 6th, 2016.

The story follows civil servant Baek Sung-il (Ma Dong-seok) and his team who collect taxes from habitual tax evaders as well as delinquent taxpayers in cooperation with the fraud Yang Jeong-do (Seo In-guk).


The broadcasting rights to this popular South Korean crime drama have been sold to 10 countries: China, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Australia, and New Zealand. Thanks to the drama, Seo In-guk won the Actor Special Award at the 11th Asian TV Drama Conference in 2016.

Shopping King Louie


Shopping King Louie is a South Korean drama starring Seo In-guk, Nam Ji-hyun, Yoon Sang-hyun, and Im Se-mi. It aired on MBC from September 21st to November 10th, 2016, for 16 episodes.

The drama got Seo In-guk to win the Actor Excellence Award at the 35th MBC Drama Awards and also to be nominated for the Grand Prize (Daesang). At the same award show, the drama also got the actor and Nam Ji-hyun nominated for the Best Couple Award.

Hundred Million Stars From the Sky


Hundred Million Stars From The Sky (another title: The Smile Has Left Your Eyes) is a 2018 South Korean television series starring Seo In-guk, Jung So-min, and Park Sung-woong. It is a remake of the 2002 Japanese television series Sora Kara Furu Ichioku no Hoshi. It aired on tvN from October 3rd, 2018, for 16 episodes.

The story follows Kim Moo-young (Seo In-guk), a complex, mysterious man with a forgotten past. He meets and falls in love with Yoo Jin-kang (Jung So-min), and although her initial impression of him is pretty negative, later she discovers that Moo-young is innocent and struggling to find out about his past life. However, her older brother, Yoo Jin-gook (Park Sung-woong), a homicide detective, doubts that Moo-young is more sinister than he lets on, oblivious to the fact that he is the key to both Moo-young and Jin-kang’s intertwined history. The situation becomes more complicated when Moo-young regains his past memories which lead him to find out the truth about his father’s death and more.


This thriller-mystery drama gives you the mysterious vibe right from the start, especially around Seo In-guk’s character. For the first few episodes, you might not understand what is actually going on, but as soon as you get deeper into Kim Moo-young’s complexity that is his personality, you will get drawn to learn more about his past story.

Seo In-guk’s Most Recent News

On April 26th, tvN released a preview of the first episode of the drama Abyss featuring Seo In-guk and Jung So-min. Apparently, the former couple will be making a cameo and portray characters who play important roles in the evolving storyline.

Seo In-guk is currently in talks to appear in a new film. On May 17th, reports appeared that he would be appearing in director Yoo-ha’s new film Pipeline. Quoted from Soompi, his agency responded to the reports and stated, “He has received an offer for the film and is currently looking over it.” If he decides to appear in the upcoming film, it will be his first in six years following the 2013 film No Breathing.
