Meet ‘Mr. Sunshine’ Actor and EXO’s Sehun Look-Alike Yoo Yeon-seok

Meet The Handsome Actor Yoo Yeon-seok

This talented actor was born on 11 April, 1984, in Seoul, with the name Ahn Yoon-seok. His family later moved to South Gyeongsang Province, because his father was a professor of selenodesy and was supposed to work at the national university there, when he was six years old. In his junior year of high school, he decided he wanted to be an actor, following his brother who was studying another year, to enter university at Seoul. The two men lived together near the district of Samseong Dong.

One day he made a friend, who would later work on the costume staff for film director Park Chan-wook, while taking acting classes. Remembering that he resembled an actor called Yoo Ji-tae, the film director give him a call about auditioning for a role. Finally, Yoo Yeon-seok made his debut with a small role in the film Oldboy as Yoo Ji-tae’s younger counterpart, in 2003.

After graduating from Sejong University with a film arts degree, he resumed his acting career and began to use the stage name his agency recommended, Yoo Yeon Seok, in 2008. Not only did he appear in dramas and films, he also played several roles in a theater show, and in 2019 he will be acting in “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder”. Dates for the show’s run haven’t been made available yet, so we’ll just have to wait and see!
