Ryu Hyun-kyung in Running Man
Ryu Hyun-kyung appeared in two episodes of Running Man: episode 143 and 272. In episode 143, there were three guests this time: Kim In-kwon, Ryu Hyun-kyung, and Lee Kyung-kyu. They were divided into two teams of 5 (Orange Team: Jae Suk, Kyung Kyu, Suk Jin, Ji Hyo, Gwang Soo. Blue Team: Jong Kook, Gary, Haha, Di Kwon, Hyun Kyung) and had to get coins by doing missions for the final battle to do karaoke. The first mission was in the sauna where they played three games; the first one was “towel battle.” In the first game Ji Hyo finally won after fighting Gary, and surprised everyone, however, Gary commented, “Why do you keep playing with me?”
The next game was “Egg bokbulbok,” where out of a total of thirty eggs only one was raw. The way it was revealed was very unpredictable. Gwang Soo was the first to go and he took the raw egg in his first try, making their team lose. The next game was rolling coins into a fork, which game seemed impossible but of course, Ji Hyo got it. Followed by Gwang Soo and Kyung Kyu, making their team win the whole mission and them choosing gold coins.
The next mission was “Dodgeball.” Ryu Hyun-kyung turned into this character full of surprises. In the end, the Orange Team eventually won. The last mission to collect coins was to tear the name label. In the last place, Orange had two gold and one silver coin, while Blue had two silver and one gold coin. This was a funny superpower karaoke. Gwang Soo’s and Ji Hyo’s hearts were beating not because of their singing, but because of that power; the choir drowned out their voices and they got 96 points.
Haha, In Kwon and Hyun Kyung were shedding tears and Hyun Kyung had to go to the bungee jumping post. Orange then did Shabang Shabang and Hyun Bin came out! The Orange Team also sang a funny version of Gangnam Style where two people had to peddle bicycles to turn on the screen. And lastly, Blue Team performed Romantic Cat with musical performances that were somewhat similar, but their energy went all crazy and Jong Kook knocked In Kwon. In Kwon screamed, which was funny and gave the best ending to the episode, even though unfortunately, they didn’t get the highest score. The Orange Team won.
Episode 272 is the second part of the 100 vs 100 battle. Ryu Hyun-kyung only has a cameo role in this episode, since there are so many guests.
