5 Reasons Why You Should Watch It’s Okay, That’s Love

The first reason is because of the drama’s psychological theme. Unlike other K-dramas that rarely use mental health as their main theme, in the drama It’s Okay, That’s Love, the mental health becomes the main topic and gets examined thoroughly. The character Jang Ja-yeol, who has schizophrenia, is explained very well by the writer. Viewers are able to learn what it feels like to have schizophrenia and how to handle the disorder through the family’s point of view. Kudos!

The second reason is this drama raises awareness about mental health issues. In the drama, character Park Soo-kwang has Tourette Syndrome. Due to the drama’s popularity, Tourette Syndrome has gotten more awareness from the viewers. In Korea, there’s an increasing number of people with tic disorders. Sadly, not many people know the symptoms and therapy. But, thanks to this drama, the viewers got educated about the disorder.

The third reason is because of the actors. Gong Hyo-jin, Jo In-sung, and Sung Dong-il are among the top actors who were able to carry their characters incredibly well in the drama. But, for D.O from EXO, this is his first experience of playing an important role in a series. His character, as a person who only lives in Jang Ja-yeol’s mind, is very unique and becomes the most important part of the drama. Even though this is his first time, D.O is able to showcase emotional acting as his character is fighting with Jang Ja-yeol.

The fourth reason is the story of the drama. The story is the perfect balance between a serious topic and the romantic comedy genre. The relationship between the main characters becomes the part filled with comedy, such as the sister-brother relationship between Ji Hae-soo and Park Soo-kwang. The romantic part also isn’t too much but viewers were still able to get the feelings without reducing the main story, mental health. Kudos to the writer!

The last reason is this drama teaches us many lessons. Not only about mental health awareness, but also teaches us how to cherish our close friends and family and also how to accept fate. Then, what do you think about the drama? Are you ready to watch it?
