2017 Soribada Best K-Music Awards – Hallyu Icon Award

The first-ever Soribada awards show, entitled “1st Soribada Best K-Music Awards” was held on September 20, 2017. The annual ceremony was held at the Jamsil Students’ Gymnasium, and featured some great performances and many awards that were given out to the best artist in various categories.

During the first ever Soribada ceremony, one of the best K-pop girl groups, Red Velvet, was awarded in the category New Hallyu Icon Award, and also the Bonsang Award.

In their acceptance speech, the members of Red Velvet never forget to express their gratitude to their fans, Revluv, who always cheer them on. Red Velvet was also really grateful for their teacher Lee Soo-man, managers, staff, and the SM Family who always teaches them and supports them.

2018 Korea Popular Music Awards – Bonsang Awards

On December 20, 2018, The Korean Popular Music Awards held its first-ever annual ceremony at the Korea International Exhibition Center, South Korea.

During the first annual ceremony, 12 artists, including solo singers and groups, were awarded Bonsang Awards or Main Prizes, MAMAMOO, Oh My Girl, Roy Kim, Jang Deok Cheol, NCT 127, MOMOLAND, BTOB, TWICE, Red Velvet, Wanna One, and BTS.

As they were awarded Bosang Awards, the Red Velvet members thanked their fans, Lee Soo-man, CEO of SM Entertainment, managers, staff, and other SM families in their acceptance speech. On March 15, 2018, The 30th Korea Producer Awards was held, and it took place at the MBC Open Hall in Seoul, South Korea. The Korea Producer Awards recognizes producing directors (PDs) and entertainers who have contributed to the free press and the development of society and culture.

Red Velvet was awarded the Performer Awards (Singer Category) during the annual ceremony. The leader of Red Velvet, Irene, expressed their gratitude for getting the awards. They were very happy and proud to be honored.

2019 The Fact Music Awards – Worldwide Icon

The Fact Music Awards is a new South Korean music awards event that was first held in 2019. The first annual ceremony of The Fact Music Awards was on April 24, 2019. The ceremony was held at the Namdong Gymnasium in Incheon, with Jun Hyun-moo and Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun as the masters of ceremonies.

The Fact Music Awards is the first offline move by FANNSTAR, which was an annual online ceremony based on fan votes. Red Velvet was awarded Worldwide Icon, along with another girl group, TWICE.

On November 26, 2019, the fourth Asia Artist Awards was held in Vietnam. During the annual ceremony, Red Velvet was awarded Daesangs (grand prizes) for Song of the Year, for the group’s hit single “Umpah Umpah.” It was the group’s first-ever Daesang since their debut. Besides being awarded Daesang, Red Velvet also won an award in the Asia Celebrity category.

During the acceptance speech, the youngest member, Yeri, said, “Firstly, we just held a concert in Seoul last weekend. At that time, we told our ReVeluv that we wanted to become singers on stage that can always give lots of happiness. After we finished the concert, the happiness seems to have returned on a larger scale to us. I want to say to everyone that I am really grateful. I hope that this good relationship between us can continue to develop and maintain in future days.”
