Wendy fell during training for her solo performance at the SBS Gayo Daejeon event on December 25, 2019. Wendy was rushed to the hospital and after the examination, it was discovered she had a fracture of the right hip and right wrist. She also suffered injuries to her face.
Dispatch tries to trace the incident by asking the SBS crew on duty at the scene. Wendy was said to have fallen on a two and a half meter high ladder stage. “The tunnel on the second floor is very dark and narrow. The stairs aren’t ready yet. In fact, the sign of glowing is not clearly visible. That’s why she fell as far as 2.5 meters in a helpless state,” said the SBS crew on December 26, 2019. With a broken bone that happened to her, Wendy is estimated to have to rest about six months to recover.
Wendy began the sound test and sound check at 11.00 South Korean time. Based on the script, Wendy will bring the song Speechless which is the soundtrack of Aladdin’s live-action film, from the top of the stairs and down to the middle of the stage. It turned out that during training the ladder had not been placed properly so that Wendy lost her balance.
The SBS crew revealed that the incident experienced by Wendy immediately made another K-pop group who wanted to appear shrouded in fear. “After the incident that happened to Wendy, some groups went up to the second-floor tunnel. Because the news spread to other groups who appeared with doubt,” said the crew.
