Pre-Debut and Career
Andy Lee was raised in and spent his childhood in the area of San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, California, USA. He attended John F. Kennedy High School before moving to Seoul and finishing his education in Korea Kent Foreign School.
During his bringing up in America, Andy Lee was fortunate enough to enter SM’s audition and becoming a trainee for the company, thus moving away from America to South Korea. He was initially supposed to debut with another boy group, H.O.T with fellow friend, Tony An. However, his parents decided against it the verdict being that he was too young, thus postponing his debut until two years later with the boy group Shinhwa.
In between his waiting period, he stayed under the same management company as H.O.T, SM Entertainment, and was featured as a rapper in SM’s girlgroup S.E.S’ I’m Your Girl alongside Eric Mun. Eric Mun later became his fellow member and leader in Shinhwa.
