The Man Behind Mr. Jo, Park Shin-yang
If you ever watched My Lawyer, Mr. Jo, you must recognize him well as the clever Mr. Jo. He is Park Shin-yang (50), a South Korean actor. He is widely known because of his amazing acting. He has won many awards in the film industry for almost 23 years.
He was known widely since his role in the movie The Letter (1997) and his famous drama Lovers In Paris (2004) with his innocent and sad face. After five years on hiatus, he starred in a drama about law, My Lawyer, Mr Jo which reached the highest rating in 2016 and soon will be launching the second season.

Park Shin-yang’s Family
On October 31, 2002, Park Shin-yang married Baek Hae-jin. Hae-jin is 13 years younger than him, but it doesn’t matter to them. His grandfather-in-law was CEO of Hagen Daaz Korean Branch. Many fans said that Baek Hae-jin was lucky to marry him because even though he is older than her, he has a charming aura.
From this marriage, they had a daughter, Park Seung-chae. She was born in Hawaii and is also registered as a United States citizen.
My Lawyer Mr. Jo: Season 2, Park Shin-yang Involved Again
In the first season of My Lawyer Mr Jo, also called Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-ho, it gained a positive response from the audience, showed by 12%-17% as the average rating and becoming the top ten high rating dramas in 2016. Not only the positive feedback from the audience, the actors and the actresses also had some awards and nominations from this drama. This situation made the drama even more popular. Due to the success of the first season, KBS decided to continue this law drama with Park Shin-yang as the main role again (Jo Deul-ho).
Besides Park Shin-yang, the other cast of Kang So-ra, Ryu Soo-young, Park Sol-mi, and Kim Kap-soo have not been confirmed yet to continue their roles in the second season. The film director Lee Jung-sub also has not been confirmed to take a role in this season.
The second season of My Lawyer Mr Jo is rumored to be airing around the first half of 2019. We have to patiently wait for the comeback of Mr Jo.
Summary of the First Season
Jo Deul-ho (Park Shin-yang) was a successful prosecutor who had been known as a merciless person. He also had a bright future as he was the son-in-law of the CEO of the largest law firm in South Korea. But, his life changed 180 degrees when he tried to reveal the corruption in the Korean prosecutor’s office which involved CEO Jung. He lost everything he had. Jo Deul-ho was accused of accepting bribes and was fired from his job. He also divorced his wife and soon became a homeless person.
After three years as a homeless man and being ignore by everybody, he met his brother from the orphanage, Kang Il-go, who was being accused of being the perpetrator in a factory fire case. In this reunion, Jo Deul-ho finds out that Michael Jung, son of CEO Jung, was the real perpetrator. Therefore, he got his spirit back to defend the truth and build a small neighborhood law office.
