Because most of his roles in dramas and movies are as a father, Park gained the nickname ‘Korea’s National Father’ because of his performance in the drama Wang Lung’s Land. But, Park doesn’t limit himself and plays various roles. In the movie When Adam Opens His Eyes, he acted as a homosexual.

Aside from movies and dramas, Park also received good responses for his performances in plays. One of his plays was a musical titled Seoul 1983 and was performed in 2015. The musical depicts the story of an older generation who lived with the pain of separation that was caused by the Korean War. Park acted as the husband.

Until now, Park is still active as an actor. His new movie Bebop Barrula released in 2018. In the movie, Park acted with other senior actors such as Shin Goo, Lim Hyun-sik, Yoon Duk-yong, and Choi Sun-ja. The movie tells about Young-hwan (played by Park In-hwan) and his other friends trying to fulfill their bucket lists. Also, he has the nickname “Korea’s National Father” which helped him to promote the movie. Park expressed his thoughts about the movie.

“There are a lot of dark and hard movies around us, and our movie is definitely warm and funny. This movie shows life in a positive direction as worth living,” said Park.

Park In-hwan’s Personal Life

m.post.naver.com

Park was born in 1945 when Korea was still under Japanese rule. For education, Park went to Hanyang Technical High School and Chung-Ang University for theater and film studies. Since his first year of college, he has been a theater actor and had no other job. In the 80’s, Park suddenly changed his mind and started appearing on television. Park remembered when he first appeared on the TV about 20 years ago. He used to suffer from ‘camera shake’.

“I went home with a lot of NG and told my wife. Every time I did that, my wife always told me that all my seniors were through that, and I can’t let it live with what I want to do,” said Park.

As an actor, Park wants to act naturally like how ordinary people live. Also, since Park was in college, he has a hobby for extreme activities. Eventually, this hobby helped him to get more patience, and this also helped his acting. Seems like Park likes to do sports. Even though now his age is in the 70’s, he still plays tennis once a week.

Park’s wife is a reporter for a movie magazine named Kim Gil Rim. She is four years younger than Park. The two met when Park was working, and their relationship developed to lovers. For his marriage, they have three kids together. The first daughter was born in 1972, the second daughter was born in 1974, and the first son was born in 1976. As a father, Park is a stubborn and strong-looking father, but actually, he has his humor, too.
