When he was in college, he only hung on to the theater study. He was playing the protagonist in plays such as “Unsanggak / Pavilion on the Clouds (운상각)” and “Ogu (오구)”. As a graduate student, he even directed “Season of the Lion (사자의 계절)” and worked with Japanese filmmaker Hara Kazuo, who is well-known for directing “The Emperor’s Naked Army Marches On” (1987). The “Season of the Lion (사자의 계절)” was a documentary about the identity of a Korean man living in Japan. He appeared in “Gangster Lessons (깡패수업)” as a waiter in a Korean pub in Japan, and also participated as an assistant director during the filming in Japan.
After living in Japan for 7 years, he returned to Korea and he made his official debut as a movie actor in 1998 in the movie “Girls’ Night Out”. He also appeared in the 2003 movie “My Teacher, Mr. Kim” that you can see the photo of below.
