In her early career, she used to act in small roles in some dramas such as The New Generation Report: Adults Don’t Know. After working in the drama, she landed a movie role in Whispering Corridors. She then became more known to the public. One of her movies, Scary Girl, became a sleeper hit. In 2011, she starred in the drama Protect the Boss with actor Ji Sung, which became a hit domestically and internationally. She also used to be a DJ in a radio show. Her soothing voice became the public’s favorite. For now, she has currently landed the main role in the drama Queen of Mystery 2 with Kwon Sang Woo. Back in 2013, Choi was rumored to have a relationship with her co-star in the drama 7th Grade Civil Servant, Joo-won. Choi responded and said that Joo-won is like her “younger brother”. She also added that she doesn’t see actors men even though she used to date two of her co-stars in the past.

When Choi Kang-hee came as a guest on the SBS talk show Hwashin, she also addressed her rumor that she is actually lesbian and in a relationship with gag-woman Song Eun-yi. She didn’t give a clear response about this because the rumor didn’t reach her, but her name keeps popping up with the “lesbian” tag. In the end, she coolly revealed that she has to keep erasing it from search terms on portal sites because she isn’t lesbian.

Choi is famous for her achievements in social work. She became an ambassador of the Environment Movement in 2005 and an ambassador of World Environment Day in 2010. She was also awarded a silver medal by the Korea National Red Cross in October 2006. In 2017, she went to Uganda to give service to the children.
