Acting Debut as a Leading Actress in School 2017

Kim Se-jeong gained even more popularity as soon as she was cast to play one of the leading roles in the drama School 2017 (학교 2017) which was aired on KBS2. Kim Se-jeong played as the character Ra Eun-ho, an 18-year-old high school student who comes from a family that owns a chicken restaurant. Even though she was on the list of a low-ranked student, Ra Eun-ho is still optimistic about studying so that she can become a webtoon artist in the future.

As reported from Soompi, on July 11th, 2017, School 2017 (학교 2017)’s director, Park Jin-seok, speaks about the reason why he chose Kim Se-jeong to be one of the leading cast members.

Park Jin-seok said that he had already met about 200 rookie actresses before the script was completed since March 2017 and then he finally met Kim Se-jeong. The director of the drama School 2017 (학교 2017) also said that he didn’t expect much when learning Kim Se-jeong’s talent is actually that of an idol and a singer.

Kim Se-jeong has been praised for her freestyle acting and she could even express difficult acting really well without a script. The director, Park Jin-seok, explained that Kim Se-jeong did her best by working very hard and her positive energy was very helpful which is why she was able to act very well. The director believes that Kim Se-jeong already has the potential to be an actress and he is very sure in his words about her.

Sejeong’s and EXO’s Sehun’s Relationship

EXO’s Sehun and Gugudan’s Kim Se-jeong met each other when they became cast members of Netflix’s variety show, Busted! The two idols became the youngest detectives in the show and the interactions between them are just too cute!

During the interview for the premier show of Busted! EXO’s Sehun and Gugudan’s Kim Se-jeong were sitting next to each other and what made the viewers surprised was that Kim Se-jeong called EXO’s Sehun hyung rather than calling him oppa. As a K-Pop fan, we already know that hyung means a formal way of a guy addressing to an older brother, whereas oppa would be the proper way of a girl addressing to an older brother. It was really funny that Kim Se-jeong had a special nickname for EXO’s Sehun calling him hyung.

Check out EXO’s Sehun and Gugudan’s Kim Se-jeong interview for Busted! below!

EXO’s Sehun is also known to be a “cold” type of guy who seems hard to approach, especially when he has to socialize with other people, except the other members of EXO. This time, the fans have noticed that the maknae of EXO, Sehun, acts differently when he’s around Gugudan’s Kim Se-jeong. He could easily burst out laughing at how Se-jeong acts around him and it seemed like he’s comfortable to be friends with her.

The concept of this variety show includes certain missions or games that are meant to be played by the cast members as they are teamed up in order to win the game. EXO’s Sehun and Gugudan’s Kim Se-jeong are really supportive of each other. There was a mission when EXO’s Sehun, Gugudan’s Kim Se-jeong, Yoo Jae-suk, and Lee Kwang-soo were teamed up and they were asked to count the pages of the books while hanging above a pool of dirty water. When it was Gugudan’s Kim Se-jeong’s turn and she lost her balance, EXO’s Sehun tried to help her and made sure that she wouldn’t fall off.

In another mission, EXO’s Sehun also helped Gugudan’s Kim Se-jeong to leave the scene where the bomb was getting closer. Their legs were tied together but they managed to escape the scene before the time ran out in a three-legged race.
