Meet This Cool South Korean Boy-band BTOB
BTOB (Hangul: 비투비), which stands for Born to Beat, debuted in 2012 by performing the songs Insane and Imagine on MCountdown. The group that is under the management of Cube Entertainment consists of Eun Kwang, Min Hyuk, Chang Sub, Hyun Sik, Peniel Shin, Il Hoon, and Sung Jae. In June, 2015, they released one full-length album called Complete and they also made a debut in Japan, with the song Wow, under the Japanese agency, Kiss Entertainment.

Ilhoon Fancy Shoes
Fancy Shoes is beautifully composed by Ilhoon. This track shows how playful and charismatic Ilhoon’s music style can be. Although it was released as the second song of the project on May 30, 2017, it is arguably one of the catchiest songs.
Peniel That Girl
That Girl, sung by Peniel, was released on June 27, 2017, and is one of the best songs for showing Peniel’s real skill as a rapper.. This electro-tropical beat song has a real summer vibe and his English lyrics perfectly match with all of the song’s components.
Hyunsik, who is known as a songwriter and composer, released the song called Swimming on July 24, 2017. His vocal skills make listeners enjoy his lower vocal register and depth feeling. This melancholy song will lave you swimming or floating in the mind. This song was co-directed by his older brother, Im Yoonsik.
Minhyuk Purple Rain
Minhyuk performed his self-composed song, called Purple Rain, featuring the singer Cheeze. This slow tempo hip-hop song released on August 10, 2017, and shows just how much skill Minhyuk has with writing, composing and performing.
Sungjae Tell Me and Paradise
Sungjae is showing his ballad skills in the track called Tell Me. His vocal character attracts listeners emotionally and beautifully. The song was released on August 30, 2017, and was performed in a low register, similar to Hyunsik vocals. However, “Paradise” offers a cheerful and bright vibe that suits Sungjae’s personality.
Eunkwang ‘One Day‘ and ‘That Time‘
This ballad was released on September 19, 2017, showcases Eunkwang vocal’s skill and impactful instrumentals. Both One Day and That Time have an intriguing melancholy feeling with a spectacular chorus line.
BTOB’s Latest News
As we know, South Korea has a mandated obligation for all male citizens to spend time in the military, with no exceptions. By March, 2019, three of BTOB’s member were inactive due to performing their military service, including Eunkwang, Minhyuk, and Changsub. It means that only Hyunsik, Peniel, Ilhoon, and Sungjae are currently active members in BTOB.
BTOB’s Peniel released a music teaser of B.O.D, which is a party-based song. Before that, to engage fans’ interest, Cube Entertainment uploaded a picture on their Instagram account, with the caption “Coming soon”. This song was out on May 13, 2019. Peniel hopes that B.O.D could add new tracks and hype in party life. He got the inspiration for this song from Korean party life. The hip-hop song has a strong and powerful beat in the background of the teaser.
BTOB’s Illhoon confirmed he was attending Dream Concert 2019, which is one of biggest K-pop joint concerts in South Korea, hosted by the Korea Entertainment Producer’s Association. The Dream Concert was held in Seoul World Cup Stadium on the 18th of May.
