Park Hae-jin’s TV Show
Park Hae-jin was a cast member of variety show Family Outing. Other cast members were MC Yoo Jae-suk, songwriter Yoon Jong-shin, Big Bang’s Kang Dae-sung, singer Lee Hyo-ri, actor Kim Su-ro, and singer Kim Jong-kook. Park Hae-jin’s nickname was Delicate Boy because of his poor performances in games and “Wake-up Missions”. He was sometimes called the unlucky man because of his constant failures during games. Kim Su-ro confirmed that Park Hae-jin might be even more clumsy than Lee Chun-hee (former cast member). Park Hae-jin was with the other cast members until the first season ended in February 2010.
Park Hae-jin’s Relationships
Currently, Park Hae-jin is not in a relationship with anyone. In an interview, he said that he had a hard time starting new relationships. Whenever he dated someone, he kept the possibility of marriage in mind. He also shared that his awareness of marriage has forced him to reconsider some aspects of his current lifestyle, such as would his wife understand his hobby, collecting sneakers. He said that he is currently more focused on his career than his love life. He would definitely date if he liked someone and said that he was not staying single on purpose.
Several years before, there was rumour that Park Hae-jin was dating Park Shin-hye. However, he said that the rumour was weird and unexpected. He stated that the dating rumour wasn’t true.
Park Hae-jin’s Donation
Park Hae-jin is famous for being a philanthropist and is active in giving donations to various charities and as a volunteer both overseas and in Korea. He was constantly donating to various charities from the past years until now. His agency confirmed that he had donated around 1.7 billion won in various local and international charities since 2011. In 2014, he donated all of his profit from his theater in China to charity. The donation was used for a seven-month-old girl’s heart valve surgery and ear reconstruction surgery for a 5-year-old boy. He was present on their scheduled surgery days.
Park Hae-jin had given a donation to Sewol ferry accident’s victims. The money was used to helping the surviving victim’s living expenses and psychotherapy. He also donated 100 million won for the people in Busan who were affected by the harsh floods. He became the member of the Community Chest of Korea’s Honor Society in May of 2015. Some of donations that he had done were:
- Donating the full proceeds from live broadcast of his fan meeting to Shanghai Baby’s Home, an orphanage for sick and disabled children that provides them with much-needed medical treatments and support, as well as tries to find them foster homes.
- Donated 50 million won to provide coal briquettes for the poor and delivered the briquettes personally.
- Donated 6,000 trees to help prevent desertification in China, along with 520 trees from his Chinese fans to celebrate his 11th debut anniversary.
Park Hae-jin’s Latest News
Park Hae-jin is busy preparing drama Four Sons. The story is about a man who meets three men looking exactly like himself while investigating his mother’s mysterious death. He plays all four characters in the drama, from a hardworking student to a professional killer. His co-star in the drama is After School’s Nana, Lee Ki-woo and Kwak Si-yang. The drama is 100 pre-produced and is expected to air sometime in the second half of this year. However, the shooting has been suspended since May 10 due to the production company’s unreasonable requests and unpaid wages.
