Park Bo-gum was born on June 16, 1993 at Mokdong, Seoul, and the youngest from three siblings. He has a sister that was born in 1983 and a brother that was born 1984. Park Bo-gum’s mom had died when he was in fourth grade of elementary school. Since then, he has been living with his father as a single parent. The name of Bo-gum means ‘precious sword’ and was given by the founding pastor of the church he usually attend to. Park Bo-gum’s image is famous for his politeness and his kind heart. His costume in the drama Reply 1998, will be auctioned for charity. The money will be donated for Vision Care, a NGO to prevention blindness. He also made a surprise visit at the children’s hospital as an event from sponsor.
