Group and Member Formation Details

NU’EST is the group formed by Pledis Entertainment in 2012 with members JR, Aron, Minhyun, Baekho, and Ren. Their genre of music is described as Urban Electro. The abbreviation of the group’s name stands for “New Established Style and Tempo,” and their fans’ name is L.O.Λ.E. NU’EST returned to the entertainment world with new material and things. It’s just that when the group made a comeback, Hwang Minhyun was forced to miss the comeback moment as we all know he joined Wanna One.

NU’EST returned as a subunit named NU’EST W. Apparently, there’s a hidden meaning behind the name and, of course, there is a hidden meaning behind the letter W as well. This is the initial for “Wait,” and this word has two meanings. First, NU’EST members have waited long enough to be able to meet their fans. Not only that, but “wait” was also aimed at fans so they wait for the group to return to being a whole group with Hwang Minhyun (Minhyun). NU’EST W released a special single made by Kiggen from Phantom, and previously Kiggen also worked with NU’EST in the making of JR’s and Minhyun’s duet song titled “Day Break” on their 5th mini-album. And then, NU’EST W made a comeback by releasing a special single on July 25th, 2017, with the title “If You.”
