In January 2016, SM Entertainment announced plans to debut a new boy group called NCT which would have a different concept from previous groups with an irregular number of members and adding new members to the group. Under the name NCT, there would be many teams or sub-units that would debut in various countries, and these teams would collaborate with each other to allow the transfer of members from one team to another.
By presenting a concept that is different from the usual, many people were surprised and also very much looking forward to the debut of NCT. The single “The 7th Sense” is the first moment the six people debuted with the identity of NCT U. “The 7th Sense” is a hip hop groove song, and the music video is focused on mesmerizing dance actions by its members Jaehyun, Mark, Ten, Taeyong, and Doyoung.
