Red Velvet’s Wendy
One of the best third-generations vocalists, Red Velvet’s Wendy, has is also known for her drastic weight changes in different eras. But before her debut with Red Velvet back in 2014, Wendy actually has a thick body which might not be suited for an idol image in Korea. Let’s take a look at her pictures before debuting:
After her debut with Red Velvet, we can see a lot of changes in her body. Wendy came out very slim and thin, perfectly suited to the idol standard in Korea. Many people even mistook her as the official visual that day, because of how beautiful she is.
Take a look at the pictures below. Do you agree with them?
There was a time in 2017 during the Red Flavor era when Wendy had lost a lot of weight. We even can see her ribs during the choreography, since she wears a half cropped top. Take a look at the picture below:
Her weight seems to increase again after their third comeback in 2017, in the ‘Peek A Boo’ era. Netizens voiced their concerns on how fast Wendy kept losing and gaining weight. Some of them assumed that she was ‘YoYo Dieting’, which is one of the most extreme diets that has been done by several K-Pop idols, and of course with negative effects from it. Here are Wendy’s photos during the ‘Peek A Boo’ era:
Even though her diet is dangerous to try, some people are still eager to do it. Here is one example, where this woman is trying Wendy’s diet, also known as ‘Wheesung’s Diet’:
After a long time, Wendy finally revealed the secret due to her issues. On December 12, 2018, Wendy and Seulgi were on JTBC’s ‘Give Me a Meal’. During the show, one of the MC’s, named Kang Ho Dong, asked if the Red Velvet members did a diet.
Wendy answered, “We do take care of ourselves during promotions.” She continued to explain, “In several times, I would blend black beans, milk, cabbage, and apple to eat it in the morning after i wake up. Then I would do 10.000 jump ropes to digest that. For lunch or dinner, I only eat one packet of pumpkin juice. That’s it.”
Kang Ho Dong then answered, “I would’ve died if i ever did that.” Wendy replied, “I was like that during trainee days, I couldn’t do that anymore after I made my debut with Red Velvet. I probably can’t do it again.” Here is the clip for you guys:
