Moon Ga-young and Cha Eun-woo’s Off-Screen Moments
Despite being sweet to each other during their on-screen romance, Moon Ga-young and Cha Eun-woo are really different in real life!
Both of them are really good friends. So, the two of them often joke around and tease each other. Since Cha Eun-woo (1997) is younger than Moon Ga-young (1996), she often takes the upper hand in teasing him.
During their appearance on Vogue Korea, Eun-woo lost the friendship test. Because of this, he ended up being punished. Moon Ga-young punished him to say a sentence that would make him uncomfortable. That sentence ended up being:
“You still look beautiful without wearing make-up.”
Hearing this statement, Moon Ga-young could not help but laugh. She successfully bullied him to praise her beauty.
Moon Ga-young also often posted a picture with him on her personal Instagram. During the filming of the drama, they seemed to be sitting close together while focusing on looking at the screen of Moon Ga-young phone.
She posted the photo with the caption “See you later👋” in reference to their reunion in a later episode. Their sweet interaction added to the list of their easy friendship.
Not only that, but the two also like to joke around during the filming process! tvN released a behind-the-scenes of Joo-kyung on top of the school building being pulled by Su-ho so that he fell in his arms. Moon Ga-young had to fall on Cha Eun-woo perfectly, and they repeatedly tried to get the visuals right. After that scene ended, Cha Eun-woo calmly walked away from Moon Ga-young. Realizing that he forgot to say the line, Cha Eun-woo came back and apologized with an awkward laugh. This made Moon Ga-young laugh.
It continued with a scene at the bookstore, and Moon Ga-young had to act out falling on top of Cha Eun-woo again while picking up a book. She asked whether she should hold her arm when she falls. While the director said it was okay, Cha Eun-woo gave her his ‘I told you’ face. “See, it doesn’t matter,” he said, to which Moon Ga-young responded with a little punch.
Cha Eun-woo also joked that he had to prepare himself because he had to endure Moon Ga-young’s weight. Moon Ga-young then pretended to curse at him. They make the scenes lighter with their easy friendship.
In another behind the scene video, Cha Eun-woo looks nervous when he has to kiss Moon Ga-young. Meanwhile, Moon Ga-young looked relaxed.
After the two of them had their kiss scene, the director asked them to repeat the scene. The director suggested that Cha Eun-woo should speak softer and stronger when pushing Moon Ga-young against the wall. After he succeeded in the second try, the director praised him by saying “Good job, Su-ho.”
Hearing the praise, the actor blush and covered his face with his hands. Seeing her co-star blushing, Moon Ga-young just laughed sweetly in response.
Hmm, so what do you think about their off-screen romance? Is it as sweet as the on-screen?
Moon Ga-young and Cha Eun-woo’s Thoughts about Each Other
During the drama press conference, Cha Eun-woo shared his thought on working together with his senior. “When I first heard that I’d be acting with Moon Ga-young, I was amazed,” he said. He went on, “I thought that Moon Ga-young would do a great job at portraying Joo-kyung and would make it entertaining.”
In a separate interview during an Esquire photoshoot, he also praised Moon Ga-young’s acting.
“Because [Moon Ga-young] has a lot of acting experience, she did a really good job as Joo-kyung,” he said.
Cha Eun-woo is also confident about his teamwork with the actress. “Since we already know each other, I think we will be able to have fun acting together, and I think we will be able to show you a great drama with great characters,” he said.
Meanwhile, although Moon Ga-young likes to ‘bully’ Cha Eun-woo, she also has a positive perspective on him. “He’s fun, smart, and kind. He’s the best partner,” she said when she was asked about her thoughts about him.
During her VLive, she also cried after reading a letter from her co-star. She was surprised when the staff gave her a letter from Cha Eun-woo.
Aside from Cha Eun-woo’s letter, other cast and staff gave her handwritten letters. The letters were put together in a book.
While reading the letters one by one, Moon Ga-young shed tears. She mentioned that this would be the first time for her to cry in public outside of acting.
“Ah, I’ve never cried in public before. The [True Beauty] cast wrote this down in person? I don’t know,” said Moon Ga-young.
Of the many letters she received, Moon Ga-young felt the most touched when she read Cha Eun-woo’s message. She really absorbed it and was silent for a while. After some time, she then read the words on his letter out loud.
“Cha Eun-woo wrote ‘It’s difficult, right? You’re great! I can do well because of you. Thank you. I was really worried before this [drama shooting]. I was very worried and pondered it. Tell me if someone is bothering you,” she read.
