Nayun in Finding Momoland
Finding Momoland was an idol survival show broadcast on Mnet in 2016. The show featured 10 trainees fighting for a position to debut in a girl group called Momoland. The survival show was aired from July 22nd until September 16th, 2016.
During the show, Nayun showed her bright and playful character. In episode 6, Nayun faced Yeonwoo in the battle of charm. Yeonwoo showed her charm by singing a melancholic song beautifully. Nayun surprised the panelists by suddenly behaving as the show’s MC. She invited the original MC, Kim Il-jung on stage and asked him to play wheel of fortune. Kim Il-jung turned the wheel and it stopped at acting. As a result, Nayun had to act to the panelist. The panelist was absorbed in her sad acting. The acting performance wasn’t her last act on the stage as she suddenly put on a flashy jacket. Trot music started playing in the background and she entertained the judges with an energetic trot song. It was a wonderful performance by Nayun as she treated the panelists with various talents.
All 10 trainees had to show not only their talents in dancing and singing, but they had to present their charisma and kind personality to be selected as the final member. The members of the final line-up were to be decided at the end of the show. In the end, 7 members were selected, one of them was Nayun.
Official debut was delayed because the members failed to gather 3000 audiences for their debut concert. Their debut album was finally released after paying the cost through crowdfunding.
