Hwasa’s Plastic Surgery Rumors
As usual, any rookie girl group in K-Pop that hits the headlines, of course, has to be scrutinized from head to toe. Mamamoo is no exception to this rule proven by the plastic surgery rumors. For Hwasa, people assumed that she has done a nose job, she has had her teeth fixed, and something minor to her eyes, however, she has never released an official statement regarding the issues. Let’s check out and compare photos of Hwasa from before her debut and today:
From the photos above, we can see that Hwasa’s facial features have indeed changed. However, this change could be attributed to the fact that she has lost some weight and her cheeks have gotten skinnier, and of course, the fact that she has matured and her features have developed more. Her nose, nevertheless, does seem more pointy.
When we compare the two photos above, we can again see that before debuting, Hwasa’s nose was rounder, and now it is visibly more pointy. Who knows, she might have done a nose job, or it could just be the effect of the makeup, just like her eyes look bigger due to makeup.
Hwasa’s Diet and Weight Loss
We are all familiar with the beauty standard for a female idol in the K-Pop industry, that is a skinny girl with fair skin and a pretty face. But, Mamamoo’s Hwasa is one of the idols that has defied the beauty standards of K-Pop and has accepted herself as she is. She said that she is proud of herself even though her thighs look bigger than the other female idol.
Although Hwasa herself is proud of her weight, a controversial issue emerged because the company has put 44 kg for her weight, on her official profile. Many people don’t believe that since for 162 cm it’s impossible to have 44 kg with ‘underweight’ BMI and they feel disappointed by the company for not accepting Hwasa as she is.
Controversy Involving Hwasa
Mamamoo’s Hwasa is already known as a free-spirited woman who doesn’t follow the beauty rules and dresses in whatever she wants. At the Dazed photoshoot, she looked super sexy with a red sports bra and underwear, also showing a sensual pose. In the interview, she said that the most important thing is showing what’s real and not pursuing the beauty standard.
Hwasa’s statement made various opinions to form, some of them pro, and some contra. A netter said, “That’s what ugly women say to make themselves feel better. You’ll be pretty if you filled the people’s beauty standard.” But, many netters also defended her by saying, “I hope everyone has healthy confidence,” “Her body is already amazing,” “I like Hwasa because she is so sexy. Her thighs are the best!” and so on.
MAMA 2018 Performance
Hwasa once again caused the occurrence of controversy with her appearance. This time, at the MAMA 2018 performance she wore a tight red leather top with super short pants revealing some of her intimate features, such as her butt line and her boob line. It was not only her outfit that drew attention, but one of the male backup dancers also appeared shirtless making her performance way more sensual.
As could be predicted, Hwasa’s outfit became a hot topic of conversation. The haters said that it’s too much for her to show her body parts because sexy performance has rules. But, the fans said that they love Hwasa because she looks very hot and looks like a Korean Beyonce.
Hwasa’s agency RBW released an official statement regarding the topic. They said, “We didn’t know that the costume would be a hot topic.” They continued, “As usual, we only choose the right outfit for the song that she is singing on the stage.” So, what do you think? Is it appropriate or not?
Mamamoo members are not yet known to have personal official Instagram accounts, only the group’s official account @mamamoo_official . Let’s check out what has Hwasa done recently, along with the other Mamamoo members!
