Fans Are Power For Idols!

Every idol or artist has their own fans, and even have names for their fandoms so everyone will know their community. Fans have a really big influence on their idols. K-pop, in particular, is no stranger to famous idols having fandoms or fan communities who always support their careers. Even though some fans are fanatics, it can’t be denied that idols need their fandoms.

Each Fandom name has its own meaning. Usually, a Fandom will hold special events to get to know each other throughout their Fandom. When they meet, they will always share stories about their idols and their same likes. Sometimes fellow fans have differences of opinion that cause fights, but the issues must be resolved so that the fandom stays together for its idol. These are some fandom names that have very special and particular meanings and you need to know them! Keep reading to find out more!


Who doesn’t know about EXO? They have many fans from around the world, especial among women. SM Entertainment has released the fan club and every fan can register to become an official EXO-L.  On August 5, 2014, EXO announced the name for their Fandom, “EXO-L”. EXO-L stands for EXO-LOVE “L”, EXO-L is a name made by EXO’s Leader, Suho, because L holds a position in the middle of the alphabet, between K and M, which also means that EXO K + EXO L + EXO M : 1 matches their slogan “WE ARE ONE”. Baekhyun said ” L is the alphabet letter between K and M. That means they (EXO-L) are people that we must put in the middle and protect “. As its meaning, EXO-L are expected to always be in their career journey. The fandom color is Cosmic Latte.


V.I.P means Very Important People, and that’s exactly what BIG BANG thinks.  BIG BANG really loves their fans, and consider them to be like family. Even though BIG BANG is currently experiencing some issues, that does not make their fans hate them. VIPs use either yellow crown light-sticks or black and white handkerchiefs.

BlackPink – BLINK

According to, BLINK is a combination of the words black and pink. Blackpink members gave their fandom this name, on January 16, 2017, BlackPink announced the name Blink via Instagram. Their fans were very happy that their idols had released the official name of fandom. Blackpink has two official clubs, namely one in Korea and one in Japan. The fandom color is pink.

Super Junior – ELF

On July 2, 2006, E.L.F. was announced as the name of Super Junior’s fan club. Super Junior decided on the name ELF (Everlasting Friends) as the name for the group’s fans around the world. The name ELF, itself, came from Super Junior’s leader, Leeteuk. The word ELF has a meaning related to fairies. Because of this, Super Junior fans have the special nickname fairy. At each Super Junior concert, the venue will be filled with blue fairies that form a blue ocean Sapphire or blue ocean.


ARMY stands for Adorable Representative MC, which is related to the military and the idea of body armor. All their fans will always be with BTS, and fans will support and protect each other. A.R.M.Y became BTS’s official fan club name on July 9, 2013. The fandom color is Silver Gray.


SONE, which, in Korean, means wish or hope, has a lot of meanings for Girls’ Generation or SNSD. The word SONE came from the Korean word SOWON. Every fan has the same hopes as SNSD, and believes that hope can be realized if they work hard to make it happen.

WINNER – Inner Circle

Inner Circle, which means circle, fans will be close and become a family, the Korean word for the inner circle, 내부 원 (naebuwon), sounds like the English phrase Number One. WINNER said their fans are also winners. This is often abbreviated as Inseos, IC’s or Incles. The fandom color is Nebula Blue.

Red Velvet – Reveluv

The ReVe in the fandom name stands for Red and Velvet. It also means dream in French, meaning ReVeluvs (Red Velvet Luv) make Red Velvet dreams come true. The fandom color is Pastel Coral.

Pentagon – Universe

On March 7, 2017, PENTAGON announced that the name of their fan club was UNIVERSE. The group explained that the name came from “You are my universe”, which is a line from the lyrics of one of the group’s songs. This fandom name was taken from their mini-album. The fandom color is UniNavy.

VIXX – Starlight

Their fans’ starlight is like a sparkling and shining star, which will always shine even in the dark. Starlight will continue with VIXX for all time. The fandom colors are navy and shining gold.

MONSTA X – Monbebe

Mon Bebe, or our baby, Monbebe means my baby in French. Minhyuk explained the meaning behind the name of the official fan club Mon Bebe. He said, “The hidden meaning of our Monsta X team name is My Star”. The fandom colors are Pantone’s 221C, 2405 C, and Dark blue C.


Once, then TWICE. If you love us even once, we’ll repay you with TWICE our love. It’s difficult to connect with people, and getting people to love is the most difficult of all. We’ll work hard so that you can look at us once, and fall in love with us TWICE. The fandom colors are Apricot & Neon Magenta.

Got7 – iGot7

The number 7 is a lucky number and is also the number of members in the group. “I GOT7” means fans have “gotten” GOT7.  Fans and GOT7 will continue to be together and will always be lucky. The fan colors are Green and White.

SHINee – Shawol

This comes from the combination of the words “SHINee” and “world”. Shawol is an abbreviation of the official name given to fans by SHINee, based on the homanul romanized for SHINee World: sha-i-ni + wol-deu. The fandom color is Pearlized Sky Blue.


The term carat refers to the measurement of shiny metal, they chose the name rust as their fandom name because of their symbol. fans will always sparkle like diamonds. The fan colors are Rose Quartz and Serenity.

2PM – Hottest

This fandom name refers to the fact that fans and 2PM are always compact and active, they will continue together despite many troubles. The fan color is Metallic Grey.

Day6 – My Day

My Day which means DAY6 and fans are important because they fill each other every day.

INFINITE – Inspirit

It comes from the words “in” and “spirit”, Inspirit indicates that fans will be there to support INFINITE, whether they are physically present or not. The fan color is Pearl Metal Gold.


iKONICS fill the space between iKON. iKON has iKONICS and iKONICS have iKON. B.I said “It means that fans become one with us“. The fan color is Orange-Red.

TVXQ – Cassiopeia

The constellation Cassiopeia is made of five points that create a W in the sky. The Cassiopeia Fanclub refers to themselves as Cassies, for short. The fan color is Pearl Red.

Akdong Musician – Aunts and Uncles

Aunt for fangirls, uncle for fanboys. Calls are addressed to fangirls and fanboys to be easy to remember.

Apink – Pink Panda

Pink Panda is a combination of the Korean word for ‘fan’ (paen) and the group’s name. The fan color is Strawberry Pink.

AOA – Elvis

ELVIS was chosen as the name for the fandom for three main reasons: It is the name of AOA’s debut song and it is being remarkable for the fans and for the group.

ASTRO – Aroha

the A and RO come from ASTRO, while HA comes from the Korean word hana, meaning one or only. which mean the fans are their one and only. The more simple explanation is AstRO + Heart + All fans equals AROHA. The fan colors are Vivid Plum and Space Violet.

ATEEZ – Atiny

The fandom names a combination of ATEEZ + DESTINY, simply meaning that ATEEZ and, someday, their fans, are destined to meet.

B1A4 – BaNa

BA comes from B1A4, while NA represents fans. it means ‘we have fallen in love with each other‘ in Hangul. The fan color is Pastel Apple Lime.

Block B – BBC

It stands for Block B Club, the block, itself, can be interpreted as a fence, but the fans also go by honeybees. The fans won’t move and always stare at Block B. The fan color is Black and Yellow Stripes

BtoB – Melody

BTOB stands for Born to Beat. The melodies are needed to make music, so the group needs their fans to make music and give support. The fan color is Slow Blue.

CLC – Cheshire

The Cheshire Cat is a fictional character from Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland.” He is famous for his distinct, mischievous grin.


Boice is a combination of the words Blue and Voice, their fans are their voice. The fan color, unsurprisingly, is Blue.

Dreamcatcher – Insomnia

InSomnia is a combination of In and ‘Somnia’, which means dreams in Latin. the meaning that fans will always be together making happy memories in their dreams. The group just announced the fandom’s official colors in June, 2019, and they are Pantone Black 6 C, Pantone 7623, and Pantone P 10-6 C.


BLRIS’s meaning is described as a combination of the words Bliss and ELRIS,  ELRIS and their fans are each other’s bliss.

FT Island – Primadonna

Prima Donna is their first album. which means that fans are heroes in their lives. The fan colors are Sunshine Yellow and Black.

(G)I-DLE – Neverland

Neverland is the place of imagination in Peter Pan, where people do not change and live forever as children. The fan colors are Neon Red & Chic Violet.

GFriend – Buddy

The meaning the group is conveying with their fandom name is that they are friends of their fans, as well. The fan colors are Cloud Dancer, Scuba Blue, and Ultra Violet.

GWSN – Groo

Groo means stump in Korean. You can always see trees in the park and can relax under them. So, like trees, ‘Groo’ means ‘People who always support and stay with GWSN’.  The fandom is represented by four Pantone colors: 203, 121, 2247, and 297.

Hello Venus – Hello Cupid

Hello Cupid is defined as a god of love. Fans will give more love to Hello Venus. The fan color is Lime Green.


Junhyung explained the meaning of Light, saying, “Let’s be light with each other. That means.”  Highlight and fans provide mutual support in any situation. The fan color is Dark Grey.


WIZ means genius or witch,  and represents a wizard who will support the future of IZ * ONE and also holds the meaning that IZ * ONE and the fans are one.

JBJ95 – Jjakung

Bring happiness between idol and fans, and they will continue to be happy forever.

KARD – Hidden Kard

Hidden Kards were a pre-debut project. The name has been important for Kard from the beginning of their debut. Kard gave hiDden Kard the D, the last piece of KARD.

Chungha – Byulharang

Byulharang describes the stars with Chungha, the moon. Byul, which means star, Ha comes from the name Chungha, and Rang, which means with Bintang with Chungha.

Laboum – Latte

A latte is a sweet coffee and the group’s fans who are a source of enthusiasm for Laboum.

LOONA – Orbits

Orbit comes from our words (ours) and bits (light in Korean). So, Orbit means fans are light for LOONA.
