Yuk Ji-dam, sometimes known as Jidam or Yukji, is a South Korean rapper from Daegu. She rose to fame after her participation in the hip-hop TV competitions Show Me The Money and Unpretty Rapstar. She returned to Unpretty Rapstar 3 as a contestant.

Yuk Ji-dam was born in Daegu on March 10, 1997. When she was a studen, she was reportedly bullied because of her dark skin. Eventually, she grew inspired by Yoon Mi-rae’s song “Black Happiness”, which is about growing up half-black in a conservative Asian country. This led to her interest in hip-hop music.

Yuk Ji-dam first appeared on Show Me the Money as the only female high school student, in July 2014, and later appeared on Unpretty Rapstar in early 2015. In the summer of 2015, Yuk Ji-dam was called out by fellow contestant Tymee for her double eyelid surgery on Mnet‘s “6JIDAM TV.”

In 2015, Yuk Ji-dam was featured in JuB, the leader of Sunny Hill’s single “My Sympathy”. The music video of the song was released on June 26, 2015.

Kisum

Jo Hye-ryung, or also well known by her stage name, Kisum, is a South Korean rapper. In 2015, Kisum competed on the first season of the variety show Unpretty Rapstar. She had previously competed in season three of the variety show, Show Me the Money.

Since August 2013, she has appeared on a G bus TV broadcast on a bus in Gyeonggi Province. She is actually from Seoul, not Gyeonggi Province. She currently lives in Songpa-gu, Seoul since she was 6 years old, she lived in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province.

Since her appearance on Unpretty Rapstar, Kisum gained her stardom and has released her own music.

On October 29, 2015, Kisum released the music video for her song “Love Talk”, featuring Hwasa of Mamamoo.

“It’s Okay” is Kisum song that was released on March 27, 2018. The song featured another participant from Unpretty Rapstar, Heize.

On August 19, 2019, she released her latest single, “Sampling By ‘Let’s Drink Up'”.

Giant Pink

Park Yun-ha, better known by her stage name, Giant Pink, is a South Korean rapper. She was the winner of the hip-hop competition show Unpretty Rapstar Season 3, and she is currently a member of the hip-hop label AIKM (All I Know Music) under SM Entertainment.

After participating in the music competition and being crowned as the winner, Giant Pink made her solo debut on March 19, 2018, with the digital single “I Don’t Think I Love You”, featuring Kassy.

On February 25, 2019, the female rapper Giant Pink re-enlivened the South Korean music industry with her latest single and music video, ‘Mirror Mirror’.

Before debuting as a solo female rapper, Giant Pink was part of a duo with Miryo, and released the single “Rock Scissors Paper” on October 26, 2016.

It was Giant Pink’s first comeback since SM Entertainment acquired Mystic Entertainment, the holding company of the All I Know Music label.

Jeon So-yeon is a South Korean rapper, singer-songwriter, and record producer signed under Cube Entertainment. She gained attention for competing in the television shows Produce 101 and Unpretty Rapstar before her solo debut on November 5, 2017, and later debuted as the leader of the girl-group (G)I-DLE, in May 2018.

She is also part of the SM Station X girl-group project Station Young, and has portrayed the League of Legends character Akali in the virtual musical groups K/DA and True Damage.

So-yeon’s success as a rapper, singer, and songwriter earned her the title of “Triple Threat”. She was also named “survival-born monster” due to her participation in three survival shows, and has established herself as the next-generation genius “Producer-dol”.

In January 2016, So-yeon appeared as a representative trainee for Cube Entertainment in the first season of the girl-group survival show, Produce 101. She remained a popular contestant during the show, but later was eliminated from the show as she ranked at number 20 on the last episode and failed to become a member of the winning girl group, I.O.I.

In July 2016, she appeared as a contestant in the third season of the rap competition show Unpretty Rapstar. She was the second runner-up of the show, gaining three tracks on the show’s final compilation album.

On December 29, 2016, the rapper signed an exclusive contract as an artist under Cube Entertainment. She then officially debuted on November 5, 2017, with the digital singles “Jelly” and “Idle Song”, which she wrote herself.

On May 2, 2018, So-yeon re-debuted in Cube Entertainment’s new girl-group, (G)I-DLE a,s the leader and main rapper. She is credited in the lyrics, music, and arrangement for both their debut song “Latata” and their comeback song “Hann”, both of which were well received and commercially successful. She also contributed to writing five songs from (G)I-DLE’s debut extended play, I Am.

Truedy is a South Korean rapper. She gained attention after appearing in the music competition Unpretty Rapstar. However, there is not much news about her music releases since her win on the show. 

After being away from the music industry, Truedy updated her fans about her news. She said, “A lot of people have been wondering. Honestly, I was really hurt. But I gained a lot more. Really, I am thankful every day.” The rapper said that a lot of things happened that she cannot really talk about, including many problems with her agency, and that she feels frustrated because she could not explain everything to her fans. She expressed, “The more I got frustrated, the more I worked on music. I think I was working on music about five days out of the week. It is not only powerful music, but happy music too, as well as catchy mainstream genres.

Truedy opened up about all the hate she received during Unpretty Rapstar. She said, “There was controversy over my character. Because it was my first time on TV, I felt pressure to fit the bill of a ‘fierce rapper.’ Now, I realize that it was all my fault. And now I’m trying to forget it all and just work hard on rapping.”

Regarding her similarities to Yoon Mi Rae, Truedy said, “She’s a musician that I really like. I’m a huge fan that looks forward to new music from Yoon Mi Rae more than anyone. During ‘Unpretty Rapstar’ a lot of rappers would diss me, comparing me with Yoon Mi Rae, and I cried a lot. It’s just my voice, but hearing people say that I was copying Yoon Mi Rae brought tears to my eyes. Of course, I listened to her music a lot, so I definitely was influenced by her in many ways. I have a long way to go. Yoon Mi Rae will forever be a celebrity to me.”

On May 25, 2016, Truedy was featured in Ailee’s song “I Can’t Live Without You”, an original soundtrack song for part 7 of the drama series Tantara.

Truedy also was featured in Kim Tae-hyun’s song “2. Urban Girl”, which was released on September 23, 2016.

On November 7, 2018, she released her own song, “Very Rare”, featuring Avec Plaisir.
