Lee Ui-soo (hangul: 이의수) was a South Korean model and DJ. He was born on June 10, 1995. Lee Ui Soo worked under SM Entertainment’s model sub-label, Esteem Models. He passed away in 2017.

Lee Ui-soo was a Korean Model under Esteem Entertainment. Esteem Entertainment is a sub-label under SM Entertainment. The company operates as a talent agency, fashion event management, and fashion production company. Lee Ui-soo was also a DJ with a passion for music.
Lee Ui-soo appeared in many fashion magazines, such as ARENA HOMME+ Magazine, W Korea Magazine, Ledebut Korea Magazine, Hiphoper Magazine, Marie Claire Magazine and many more. He also appeared in TV shows OnStyle Devil Runway and Onstyle Charming TV.

BTS’s V’s Best Friend
When BTS first debuted in 2013, V still had the freedom to meet Ui-soo and his other friends comfortably. BTS were still rookie idols and still trying to garner attention, so Ui-soo would try to help V out and mentioned him whenever he could.
V would take photos with Lee Ui-soo casually and not worry too much about the public back then. They would play video games together on Facebook and tease each other when one would lose.
Ui-soo didn’t miss the chance to advertise the fact that V had just debuted and quickly shared a photo of V on his personal Facebook.
Lee Ui-soo also shared a tweet about how grateful he is when V was set to debut and wished him a successful life. He tweeted on his personal Twitter, “I was just walking and ran into V??? I missed you man, how long has it been ㅜㅜ I saw him for 26.8 seconds and then said goodbye TT I hope BTS becomes successful<3”
Passed Away in 2017
On October 8, Esteem Modeling Agency announced the passing of model Lee Ui Soo at the age of 22.
Esteem Entertainment began their statement by saying, “We express our grief and condolences for this sudden news. We are still in shock over the news. It is true that he took his own life, but we are still working to find out the details. The family has expressed their desire to carry out his funeral quietly as a family. Please pray that he rests in peace.”
On October 7, Lee Ui Soo’s brother also released a statement about his brother’s passing on his personal social media, stating, “My one and only younger brother Lee Ui Soo passed away on October 6, 2017. I believed that he was living well for himself as he worked as a model and a DJ…it must have been so hard for him seeing as he made this kind of decision.”
The post continued, “Tomorrow, October 8, at 2 p.m. we will receive the paperwork at the Seoul Yongsan Police Office, then will lay his casket at the funeral home where we will spend one last day by his side praying with our pastor and visiting with friends.” The post continued, “Things will become more clear as the investigation goes on, but please pray that our Ui Soo has gone to a better place.”
The funeral was set to take place on October 9 at Seoul Memorial Park. Deep condolences to Lee Ui-soo’s family.
