For K-Pop fans, Suga’s name is certainly familiar. This one of the BTS members is widely known for his rapping and songwriting skills. Despite his busy schedule as a BTS member, Suga often produces songs for other singers and even performs duets. He has created more than 70 songs, including Suran’s “Wine” which won the best Soul/R&B track of the year at the 2017 Melon Music Awards.

Lee So-ra is a South Korean singer born on December 12th, 1969. She debuted in 1993 as a member of a jazz group called Strange People. She then released her first solo album in 1995, Lee So-ra Vol. 1. Lee So-ra managed to leave a strong impression in the music industry at that time. Her single “I’m Happy” rose to the top of the South Korean charts, as in the KBS music program Top 10 Songs.
Since then, Lee So-ra has released 8 studio albums in the past 20 years, namely Like In A Movie (1996), About Sorrow and Anger (1998), Flower (2000), SoRa’s 5 Diary (2002), Nunsseopdal/Eyebrow Moon (2004), Lee So Ra (2008), and, 8 (2014).
Throughout her music career, Lee So-ra has received many awards, such as the Solo Artist of the Year at the 2004 Korean Music Awards for her sixth album Nunsseopdal/Eyebrow Moon.
The album even entered the list of the 100 biggest albums in South Korea of all time. Some hits from Lee So-ra include “The Wind Blows,” “Please,” and “Track 9.”
Aside from being a singer, this woman with blood type AB is also successful as a music show host. The program Lee So Ra’s Propose aired on KBS2 for 5 years.
Successful as both a singer and a music host, apparently Lee So-ra is a player of the game World of Warcraft.
In the trailer for Survival: I am a Singer from MBC in 2011, she could be seen playing the online game. When appearing on another program, You Hee-yeol’s Sketchbook, she said that she is not the type of person who goes outside and enjoys playing games.
Since appearing on the reality show Begin Again on JTBC in 2017, Lee So-ra hasn’t appeared in the media yet. There was a rumor circulating about the release of her 9th album in 2016 after the release of a digital single written by Kim Dong Ryul but it has not yet been realized.
In October 2018, Lee So-ra released a single in collaboration with Roy Kim under the title “October Lover.” She also released a new track titled “Into My Heart” which became part of the OST of the popular Korean drama starring Song Hye Gyo and Park Bo Gum, Encounter.

Featuring BTS’ Suga in ‘Song Request’
“Song Request” which successfully topped the iTunes charts in 44 countries and regions was released on Tuesday (1/22/2019).
In addition to successfully topping major music charts in South Korea such as Melon, Genie, Bugs, Naver, and Soribada, the retro nuanced song with sentimental melody also broke the record previously held by Jennie BLACKPINK on global iTunes.
And not even 24 hours after it was released, on January 23rd, at 12 a.m. KST “Song Request” managed to master position number 1 on 5 real-time Korean charts, namely Melon, Genie, Bugs, Naver, and Soribada. Also topping the iTunes charts in 44 regions marks the best record for any South Korean female artist.
The top position achieved by the song “Song Request” is not without a reason. Because the newly released song has been long-awaited by fans of Lee So-ra, ARMY (as a loyal BTS fan), and High Skool (a term for loyal fans of Epic High). The long wait of the three musician fans above is also not without a reason. Because the three musicians behind the song are known as talented musicians.
“Song Request” itself describes how a song played on the radio can be a solace and lonely because someone remembers the memory of a past love. The song is reinforced with rap from Suga which illustrates how his music has meaning for his listeners and makes their lives equal.
