Lee Da-hae’s Plastic Surgery Rumors
Plastic surgery is so common in South Korea, and it feeds into the expectations that South Korean celebrities must always present themselves as perfect and beautiful to fit into South Korean perceptions and standards of beauty. Many South Korean celebrities in the industry have undergone plastic surgery for both beauty and medical reasons. But, not all of them openly admit it. However, Lee Da-Hae is among the ones who have admitted to undergoing plastic surgery.
On April 29, 2013, through a broadcast of Mnet’s Wide Entertainment News talk show during the Quick Talk section, Lee Da-Hae appeared as a special guest. She revealed, “I used to be obese. I also did some remodeling to my face,” as reported by Soompi. MC Moon Hee-Jun was very surprised at hearing her statement and stated, “I thought you did not get any plastic surgery.” She responded playfully, “Please continue to think like that.”
When MC Moon Hee-Jun jokingly complimented her and said that he thought it was really well done since he can’t even tell, Lee Da-Hae laughed while thanking him.
So, let us compare her before-and-after plastic surgery pictures!
It is easy to see that something about her appearance after debut had changed. Before debuting, she had a square face and small eyelids. After debuting, she gained attention while her fans compared her photos and were sure certain changes could not be accounted for with makeup or losing weight. Her fans observed that her appearance changed over time, and at present, she appears more elegant.
Previously, Lee Da-Hae once bravely showed her before debut photos. When you compare the earlier photos with her more recent ones, it looks like the lower half of her face was slimmed down through a jawbone reduction. A small face with a V-shaped chin and jawline is considered a mark of feminine beauty in much of Asia, especially South Korea. Fans speculated that Lee Da-Hae also opted for jawline surgery to get thinner and sharper facial features.
Fans speculated that her cheeks were also possibly filled with Botox injections.
When Lee Da-Hae won the 71st Miss Chunhyang Pageant in 2001, her nose looked flat with a round tip. Even if she denies getting a nose job, the result is unquestionable. We can clearly see that her nose dramatically changed into a more pointed one, and so she seems to have had a rhinoplasty procedure.
