Back on September 3rd, 2014, the group was caught in a serious car accident, resulting in the death of two members of the group, Rise and EunB. So-jung’s Career

As it has been mentioned before, prior to her debut with Ladies’ Code, Lee So-jung was a contestant of the first season of The Voice of Korea. She was even managed to proceed to the Top 8 of the program.

After that, she debuted with Ladies’ Code in 2013, with the group’s mini-album Code#01 and the title song “Bad Girl.” The day after Ladies’ Code debut, the group’s song charted well on real-time music charts such as Bugs, Soribada, Mnet and Daum. After that, the group had their first digital single “Hate You” and their second mini-album Code#02 Pretty Pretty, the same year.

The next year, she made a comeback together with the group with their second digital single “So Wonderful,” released in February. They also made another comeback with a new single titled “Kiss Kiss,” released on July 31st, 2014. Later, on September 1st, 2014, Ashley revealed that the group is in the middle of working on a new album.

The Tragic Accident

On September 3rd, 2014, Ladies’ Code was caught in a serious car accident while returning to Seoul after attending the recording od KBS’ Open Concert. As a result of this accident, Ladies’ Code lost two of its members, RiSe and EunB.

EunB was announced dead on arrival when the paramedics reached Sungbin Medical Center. Meanwhile, the remaining passengers were rushed to various hospitals. So-jung was one of the members who suffered the most serious injuries and was taken to the Catholic University of Korea St. Vincent’s Hospital in Suwon with RiSe, listed under critical condition. While RiSe’s condition deteriorated and had to be moved to Ajou University Hospital, fortunately, So-jung’s condition was stabilized. Eventually, she was moved to a hospital in her hometown, Wonju. Due to the accident, her mental state was really weak, which made her the last one to be told about EunB and RiSe.

Later, the remaining members returned to the group’s dorm in Seoul on November 12th, with So-jung continuing to receive outpatient treatment. On May 28th, 2015, Polaris held I’m Fine, Thank You: RiSe & EunB Memorial Concert in Tokyo, in honor of RiSe’s dream that Ladies’ Code would someday perform in her home country. The members of Ladies’ Code performed a song titled “I’ll Smile Even If It Hurts” in which So-jung was involved in the track’s composition and production.

So-jung made her solo debut on May 4th, 2017, after Ladies’ Code last made their comeback with their mini-album Strang3r, in October 2016. She made her solo debut with a song titled “Better Than Me.” Upon her solo debut, Polaris Entertainment shared that her song is a mellow and emotional ballad. They also said that her voice enhances the song’s sad vibe. Later, she released another single titled “Stay Here,” on March 8th, 2018.
