Saimdang Light’s Diary is a South Korean drama with Lee Young-ae playing the title role as Shin Saim-dang, a notorious artist and calligrapher from the Joseon era who resided in the early 16th century. The series marks Lee Young-ae’s TV comeback 14 years after her mega-hit drama Dae Jang Geum/Jewel in The Palace (2003).

The series got a lot of attention before its broadcast because it was a comeback for Lee Young-ae, whose last appearance on the small screen was 14 years earlier. Chinese rights of the series were sold for $267,000 per episode to the Hong Kong-based Emperor Entertainment Korea, boasting a budget of 22.5 billion won ($20 million), exceeding the prior record set by the 2016 hit drama Descendants of the Sun. Rights were also sold for $20,000 per episode to Netflix in the US and $90,000 per episode in Japan.

Are You Human Too? is a 2018 South Korean TV series featuring Seo Kang-jun and Gong Seung-yeon. Filming started at the end of June 2017 and ended on November 29th, 2017. Some parts of the filming took place in the Czech Republic. It took two years to complete the whole series production, which cost a total of 10 billion won (US$ 9.23 million).
