The sixth on the list is Vagabond, a package of spy, action, thriller, and, of course, romance. This series has one of Korea’s highest production costs, of over 25 billion Korean won. Part of the production was done overseas (in Portugal and Morocco), also the drama will have numerous action scenes.
Vagabond reunites Lee Seung-gi and Bae Suzy, who previously worked together in Gu Family Bok and had amazing chemistry together. Can’t wait to see what they’re going to offer in Vagabond, more intense scene and crazy chemistry, for sure! There is also Shin Sung-rok, who previously worked on Perfume and another hit drama, The Last Empress, in the same year, to make the story more interesting.
With a big budget and amazing cast, you’re going to wonder what the story is about. Vagabond tells a story about a stuntman and an NIS agent. The story starts when more than 200 civilians are killed by a mysterious plane crash, including the nephew of Cha Dal-gun (Lee Seung-gi). Cha Dal-gun, determined to find out the truth behind the accident, embarks on an investigation that will lead him to a tangled corruption web. His life goes hand in hand with Go Hae-ri (Bae Suzy), a covert National Intelligence Service operative.
The expectation is very high for this drama, but we believe that Lee Seung-gi and Bae Suzy to repeat the success of their previous drama, Gu Family Bok, which many fans loved. Vagabond is set to air on SBS and Netflix on September 20, 2019, don’t miss it!
Shava: The Sixth Finger
The seventh on the list is Shava: The Sixth Finger. This is actually not a drama, but a mystery thriller film. But the story is so good and is part of Netflix original film, which is why we put Shava on the list. The film was directed by Jang Jae-hyun, whose previous work as director is the supernatural thriller film The Priest (2015). Shava stars veteran actor Lee Jung-jae, Park Jung-min, Lee Jae-in, Jung Jin-young, Lee David, and Jin Seon-kyu. It released on February 20, 2019. Lee Jae-in won Baeksang Arts Award in the category Best New Actress for this movie.
Shava consists of a series of complicated subplots that resemble puzzles. Pastor Park (Lee Jung-jae) is working to expose suspicious religious groups. He’s employed to look into the Deer Mount cult group. Meanwhile, police captain Hwang (Jung Jin-Young) is investigating a murder case and he will quickly focus on a Deer Mount cult group member.
He found out about the murder of a young girl whose body was found after a tunnel accident and began linking various clues as the investigation progressed. Taking place in parallel, the story of a fanatic named Na-han’s (Park Jung-min) obsession with a young girl, Geum-hwa, revealed the mystery and shook Pastor Park.
