South Korean Actress Shin Ae-ra
Shin Ae-ra is a South Korean Actress and a Radio DJ. Shin Ae-ra has graduated from Chung-Ang University, Theater and Film major. She made her acting debut in 1989 and after that, she was chosen to be a part of the main cast in the drama series Love in Your Arms and Bad Housewife. She has been married to South Korean Popular Actor Cha In-pyo since 1995. This couple gained broad support from Korean society thanks to their becoming philanthropists. They became one of the most active volunteers in orphanages and welfare centers; they are big-hearted and pay particular attention to stopping violence and abuse in schools, North Korean Exile Rights, and humanitarian aid for underprivileged children.
Shin Ae-ra gave birth to her son, Cha Jeong-min, in 1998. But, Shin Ae-ra and her husband made the headlines when they adopted two baby girls, Cha Ye-eun in 2005, and Cha Ye-jin in 2008. They raised public awareness regarding the problem of adoption in Korea, where despite the prevalence of adoption abroad, domestic adoption is rare and stigmatized because of culturally held beliefs that emphasize “pure” bloodlines. Shin Ae-ra and Cha In-pyo’s cases are even more prominent because Korean couples with their own biological children rarely adopt, and they are praised for serving as a positive role model.
