Ko So-young married actor Jang Dong-gun at Seoul’s Shilla Hotel on May 2, 2010. It was one of the most lavish weddings at the time. The ceremony was attended by many Korean stars, and closed from the media. During SBS’s “Healing Camp”, which Ko So-young appeared on as a guest star, she revealed how Jang Dong-gun and his family reacted to her pregnancy. Fortunately, Jang Dong-gun positively accepted her pregnancy, with approval from both their families. Although she wanted to hide her pregnancy from the public by going to the hospital secretly, the media already noticed her pregnancy, and it became a hot topic afterward. Ko So-young’s first child was born on October 4, 2010.

Ko So-young and Jang Dong-gun had their second child. A baby girl who was born on February 25, 2014. Ko So-young spent her hiatus time from the entertainment industry to take care of herself and her family.
