Park So-dam’s Latest News

Park So-dam is reported to be joining the cast for an upcoming drama in 2019, called Parasite. The drama will be directed by director BONG Joon-ho, and has locked down its main cast. “No parasites appear in this movie. It’ll be neither a horror nor Sci-fi. It’ll be a family drama which revolves around various characters and strange kinds of families.” the director said. Besides Song Kang-ho, who was cast earlier, Lee Sun-kyun, Jo Yeo-jeong, Park So-dam, Choi Woo-shik and Jang Hye-jin have been confirmed to be part of the cast.
The drama will tell the stories of two families. One of the two fathers is Song Kang-ho with his son played by Choi Woo-shik, who starred in BONG’s fantasy drama Okja, and his daughter played by Park So-dam. Appearing in films like Secret Sunshine (2007), The World of Us (2016) and Yongsoon (2017), Jang Hye-jin was cast to play Song’s wife. The other father will be played by Lee Sun-kyun, while Jo Yeo-jeong will play his wife. Their teenage daughter and young son will be selected through auditions. The movie is expected to feature a great ensemble of various actors and actresses.
This is Bong’s seventh feature film, and his first Korean film in 10 years after Mother (2009). It will start shooting sometime this year and be released in 2019.
