This episode was broadcast on December 14, 2014. The guests on this episode were Kim Woo-bin and Lee Hyun-woo. Both were guests on the show to promote their new movie, The Con Artists. As a result, this episode’s theme was about Running Man members trying to do a robbery. Kim Woo-bin is chosen as spy, and he chose his previous teammate, Lee Kwang-soo, to be his partner. Their job was simple: they had to get an ancient, noble script. They had a specialty, to eliminate all the other members by writing their names on a blank name tag. To write a member’s name, they first had to succeed on the mission to get tools to help with their job.
Each of the members were given roles to match with the theme. Yoo Jae-suk had ability to open anything using flour.
Ji Suk-jin had the ability to break codes on his retinas.
Kim Jong-kook had superpowers. Well, basically, just being himself.
Gary and Song Ji-hyo (Monday Couple) had the ability to climb a building like Spiderman, although they were really only acting and using CGI effects.
HaHa was a bomb expert.
Lee Kwang-soo could become invisible.
The members were divided into three teams; Black team (Kim Woo-bin, Lee Kwang-soo, and Yoo Jae-suk), Blue team (Lee Hyun-woo, Song Ji-hyo, and Kim Jong-kook), and Red team (Ji Suk-jin, Gary, and HaHa). Other teams have same overall mission as them; finish missions in order to obtain tools to help them find the script. The other teams didn’t know that Kim Woo-bin and Lee Kwang-soo could eliminat them without any reason, though.
The first mission involved buying coffee with specific requests, while one team member hung on a bar. On the way to the location, Lee Kwang-soo asked Yoo Jae-suk to win all the missions. Because of the odd request, Yoo Jae-suk started thinking that Lee Kwang-soo was a spy. Kim Woo-bin was acting to hide his identity.
At the location, Kim Woo-bin was the one that had to hang on the pole, going against Ji Suk-jin and Gary. In the meantime, Yoo Jae-suk and Lee Kwang-soo were buying the coffee. All three teams failed the mission, because Kim Woo-bin was dragging everyone off, and then slipped off, himself. For the next round, the mission was find a foreigner who came from a country with three syllables. For this mission, Yoo Jae-suk was hanging while the other two were looking for foreigners. After they found someone from Belgium, they still failed because Yoo Jae-suk was already out. In the third round, the mission was to look for snacks with initials D, S, and R. Now, Kim Woo-bin was hanging on the pole. Luckily, his team succeeded that time, and they became the winner.
The second mission was a staring contest. Each of members had to stare at each other. That first ones to up against each other were HaHa and Kim Jong-kook. While they were talking, Kim Jong-kook jokingly said that his small eyes were born to play this game. HaHa even talked about Yoon Eun-hye (Kim Jong Kook’s rumored crush), trying to make Kim Jong-kook blink. The next members were Gary and Song Ji-hyo. To make Gary blink, Song Ji-hyo tried to flirt with him. Her plan worked, and Gary lost. The next pair was Yoo Jae-suk and Ji Suk-jin. They used tape on their body to try to make the other member laugh. Yoo Jae-suk taped himself until his nose was going up. Because of the pain, he blinked and lost. The next members were Gary and Kim Woo-bin. To win this game, Kim Woo-bin made himself look ridiculous. In the end, after winning some rounds, Black team became the overall winner.
The next mission was to find the ancient script. This was their final mission, and the spies, Kim Woo-bin and Lee Kwang-soo, had to complete their mission before the other members. Surprisingly, not every pen will write on the name tags. If the two write on a name tag with the wrong pen, they’ll be eliminated instead. Even though this is an individual mission, Kim Woo-bin and Lee Kwang-soo were still working together. While the other members looked for the ancient script, Song Ji-hyo found a clue that warned there was a spy among them. She became cautious around Kim Woo-bin, because he was always asking for clues. On the other hand, Kim Woo-bin had already found some blank name tags in different colors. He figured out that the colors matched with the buttons on each member’s clothes. The name tag that he found had a red border, and Kim Jong-kook had red buttons. In a second, Kim Jong-kook was eliminated.
Meanwhile, Lee Kwang-soo wrote Song Ji-hyo’s name, and she was eliminated. Before she was eliminated, she told Gary about the clue that she found. Yoo Jae-suk realized that the spy had the same mission as them. One by one, every member was eliminated, all that remained were HaHa, Gary, and Yoo Jae-suk. HaHa’s name tag was his own hand. Kim Woo-bin and Lee Kwang-soo tried to steal it, but things got messy and they eliminated Gary instead.
Unexpectedly, Lee Kwang-soo’s name was called out, and he was eliminated. It turns out Kim Woo-bin betrayed his own partner, and eliminate Lee Kwang-soo. After eliminating Lee Kwang-soo, Kim Woo-bin found a clue saying ancient script was placed on the second floor. In the end, Kim Woo-bin wrote his own name on the ancient script and was the winner!
When they were filming the second mission in Myeong-dong, their appearances made the news, because their race was in such harsh weather. Kim Woo-bin and Lee Hyun-woo’s appearance also became the news, then later the PD confirmed it.
