Playful Kiss is a 2010 South Korean television series starring Kim Hyun-joong and Jung So-min. The series aired on MBC from September 1st to October 21st, 2010, on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 21:55 for a total of 16 episodes. The series is based on the Japanese manga Itazura Na Kiss by Tada Kaoru. The average nationwide viewership rating was 4.9%, the highest was 8.2% while the lowest was 3.0%.

Kim Hyun-joong acted as Baek Seung-jo, the smartest and the most handsome guy in the high school. However, he has a bad personality and tends to look down on others. On the other hand, Jung So-min acted as Oh Ha-ni, a not-so-bright girl who struggles academically and has a big crush on Baek Seung-jo. Seung-jo buys cheap shirts for them to change into. Ha-ni points out that the shirts happen to match like a couple’s tee. Seung-jo says that she is being silly. He then tells her that he has never faced difficulties, but after meeting Ha-ni, he feels like he has come into a whole new world. He compares her to a problem he has to solve and says that he won’t run away anymore because the answer is there.

Ha-ni is shocked and wondering if that was a proposal. He chides her for jumping to conclusions and clarifies that he was saying that he doesn’t dislike her.
