FNC Entertainment, which stands for “fish and cake” is a South Korean entertainment agency and company founded in 2006 by producer and former singer Han Seong-ho. The company operates as a record label, talent agency, music production company, event management and concert production company, and music publisher. This label was previously known as FNC Music, which only managed musicians, but later changed its name to FNC Entertainment in 2012 and began expanding their business in the entertainment field. Since January 2012, the company’s office is based in Cheongdam-dong.
This agency is home to famous K-pop musicians such as F.T. Island, CNBLUE, AOA, N.Flying, SF9, HONEYST, and InnoVator. FT. Island (Five Treasure Island) is a South Korean pop-rock band under the label FNC Entertainment. They consisted of Jonghoon, Hongki, Jaejin, Seunghyun, and Minhwan. FT. Island debuted with the song Lovesick, which was part of their first album “Cheerful Sensibility” and was released on June 8, 2007.
Successfully debut in Korea, they, too, spread their wings in the rising sun country. FT. Island debuted in Japan with their first mini album, Prologue of FTILAND -soyogi- on June 7, 2008.
In early 2009, original member Oh Won-bin left FT. Island and his position was replaced by Song Seung-hyun, who was also a trainee at FNC Entertainment. Seunghyun fills in guitar and vocal positions. CNBLUE (Code Name Blue) is a South Korean rock band under the management of FNC Entertainment. This band consists of four handsome men, namely Jung Yong-hwa, Lee Jong-hyun, Lee Jung-shin, and Kang Min-hyuk. Besides being good at singing and playing musical instruments, CNBLUE members are also good at acting. CNBlue first debuted in Japan on August 19, 2009, with their first mini album, Now or Never. However, at the end of September, the original bassist, Kwon Kwang-jin (now a member of the N.Flying band), left the band and was replaced by Lee Jung-shin. Then, they officially debuted in Korea on January 14, 2010, with their first mini album, titled Bluetory.

AOA, or Ace of Angels, is a Korean band under the label FNC Entertainment. AOA consists of 7 + 1, namely Jimin, Choa, Yuna, Younkyung, Mina, Hyejeong, Seolhyun, and Chanmi. Special Youkyung, she joined a sub-unit called AOA Black and did not appear in the main group. AOA debuted on June 30, 2012, with the song Elvis, which was part of the first single, Angels’ Story. AOA also debuted in Japan with the single Miniskirt on October 1, 2014.
N.Flying is a rap/rock band formed by FNC Entertainment. The band now consists of five members, namely Kwon Kwang-jin (Bass), Lee Seung-hyub (Guitar, Vocals, Rap), Cha Hun (Guitar), Kim Jae-hyun (Drum), and Yoo Hoe-seung. The name N.Flying is taken from the words “New” and “Flying,” which also means “New Wings” or “New Escape”. They promoted in Japan first, by releasing a single album titled “Basket” on October 1, 2013.
After waiting a year and a half to debut in Korea, finally, on May 20, 2015, N.Flying officially debuted with the song Awesome, from their first mini album of the same name.
Cube Entertainment is a South Korean record company, founded in 2006 by Hong Seung-sung, the former President of JYP Entertainment. Music labels are distributed by Universal Music Korea, CJ E&M Music, and Live and LOEN Entertainment.
Cube Entertainment was founded on August 29, 2006 by Hong Seung-sung (aka Simon Hong), former president of JYP Entertainment, and Shin Jung-hwa (Monica Shin) as Playcube Inc. Because of the founder’s past relationship, Cube Entertainment is often mistaken as a subsidiary of JYP Entertainment. However, Cube Entertainment is an independent company. A-Cube Entertainment, founded in 2011, is its first subsidiary.
4Minute is a five-member girl-group from South Korea formed in 2009 by Cube Entertainment. 4minute consists of five members: Jihyun, Gayoon, Jiyoon, Hyuna, and Sohyun. 4minute released their first single on June 15, 2009, and made their first debut on June 18, 2009, on Mnet M! Countdown. After seven years of their career, 4minute was officially declared disbanded on June 13, 2016.
BEAST or B2ST is a boy-group from South Korea under the label Cube Entertainment. This group was originally called B2ST, an abbreviation for Boys to Search for Top, but was replaced by the name BEAST (Boys of the East Standing Tall). Beast consists of Doo Joon, Hyun Seung, Jun Hyung, Yo Seob, Gikwang, and Dong Woon. They officially debuted on October 14, 2009, by releasing their first mini album, Beast Is the B2ST.
After deciding to switch agencies from CUBE Entertainment to Around Us Entertainment, the boy-band who debuted in 2009 decided to change their name. The decision was taken to avoid a legal dispute with their former agency. The reason is that, until now, the name B2ST is still a patent owned by CUBE Entertainment. They then re-debuted with the name “HIGHLIGHT” in 2017.
BTOB (Born To Beat; 비투비) is a seven-member boy group formed by Cube Entertainment. They consist of Eunkwang, Minhyuk, Changsub, Hyunsik, Peniel, Ilhoon, and Sungjae. BTOB debuted on March 22, 2012 with the song Insane.
They debuted in Japan on November 12, 2014, with the song WOW. In Japan, they are under the management of Kiss Entertainment (Boyfriend, Girl’s Day, GFriend).
CLC (Crystal Clear) is the second girl-group from Cube Entertainment. This group now consists of seven members, namely Seunghee, Sorn, Seungyeon, Yoojin, Yeeun, Elkie, and Eunbin. CLC debuted on March 19, 2015.
Following in the footsteps of their seniors, the CLC expanded into neighboring Japan. They debuted in Japan on April 13, 2016, with their first mini album, “High Heels”.
