Koo Hye-sun & Ahn Jae-hyun’s Divorce


Koo Hye-sun announced the shocking news of Ahn Jae-hyun’s plan to divorce her on the morning of August 18th, 2019. She posted a picture of a handwritten letter that said: “I Love You, Koo Hye-sun, I Love You Koo Hye-sun,” on her Instagram account.

In the caption, she wrote that her husband, Ahn Jae-hyun had lost the spark in their marriage and wanted a divorce. However, Koo Hye-sun rejected his divorce plan and wanted to stay married.

Two hours later, she posted captured images of her conversation with Ahn Jae-hyun regarding the divorce. She wanted Ahn Jae-hyun to talk to her mother before coming up with a decision and signing the divorce papers. Ahn Jae-hyun wanted to have the papers signed before giving a press conference the following week. However, Koo Hye-sun persisted in asking Ahn Jae-hyun to talk with her mother and receive her mother’s consent for the divorce.

A few hours later, her posts were deleted and she uploaded a new post. The caption said that both Ahn Jae-hyun and Koo Hye-sun are in the middle of filing for divorce. There was no final decision regarding the divorce. Later that evening, Koo Hye-son deleted her previous post.

On the evening of August 18th, 2019, Ahn Jae-hyun’s side made an official statement through his agency, HB Entertainment. The agency stated that both actors reached a point of no longer being able to maintain their marriage. Both of them agreed on getting a divorce. However, earlier in the morning, through her Instagram post, Koo Hye-sun revealed that she didn’t want a divorce. Both the agency and Ahn Jae-hyun were regretful of her personal statement.


Following the divorce plan, there were a series of Instagram posts made by Koo Hye-sun about her married life with Ahn Jae-hyun. She also posted a private chat log between her and her husband. It seemed that both parties wanted to look as the innocent one before the divorce was settled.

Koo Hye-sun uploaded posts regarding her troubling married life on her Instagram account. She allegedly suspected Ahn Jae-hyun of cheating her with another woman. She even brought up past stories about Ahn Jae-hyun’s relationship with previous lovers. Most of the time, Ahn Jae-hyun held his stance and never responded to any of her posts.

Ahn Jae-hyun and Koo Hye-sun met at the set of the 2015 drama Blood. Both co-starred in the drama and started dating in April 2015. They got married in May 2016. After getting married, the couple appeared on the semi-documentary reality show, Newlywed Diary. Koo Hye-sun is considered a very popular Korean actress with numerous hit dramas, while Ahn Jae-hyun was a beginner actor with mediocre acting skills.

Ahn Jae-hyun’s latest drama, Defective people, was broadcast from November 2019 until January 2020. Koo Hye-sun released her latest album, Should I Die? on September 27th, 2019.


SEVENTEEN’s 3rd Album ‘An Ode’


Seventeen released their third studio album An Ode on September 16th, 2019. They set a new color and were free to try a new concept in the third album. There are 11 tracks in the album and they are mainly arranged in collaboration with Bumzu. The album’s title track was “Fear” and the album also included the popular single “Hit.”

An Ode peaked at the No. 1 position in both Japan and Korea and certified 3 x Platinum. After releasing the album, Seventeen was set to tour and promote their latest album in Asian countries.

In the third album, Seventeen showed their maturity with clear values, strong musical competence, and a more extended musical spectrum. The leading track, “Fear,” showed each of their members’ darkest side.


Former f(x) Member Sulli Passed Away


K-Pop star and former member of f(x) Sulli was found dead in her house in the Seongnam area, Seoul. According to the initial investigation, police suspected that she killed herself on the second floor of her house. Police found a note close to her dead body but it was only a note that expressed her feelings, not a suicide note.

In 2015, she was forced to retire from her group after going through online abuse from Korean netizens. After her retirement, she focused on acting and appeared in Korean dramas and movies.

Sulli decided to continue her singing career by releasing her first solo album in 2018.

She was popular on social media networks and had more than six million followers on her Instagram account. On her Instagram account, she frequently uploaded pictures or videos of her without wearing a bra. Her free-living character caused controversy and raised anger among conservative Koreans. Due to her style and character, she received numerous evil comments and criticism.

Her agency, SM Entertainment, released an official statement regarding her funeral. The company stated that Sulli’s family wished for her funeral to be carried out quietly without the presence of the press.


KARA’s Goo Hara Passed Away


KARA’s Goo Hara was found dead at her home in the Gangnam area, Seoul on November 24th, 2019. Police said that they were investigating the cause of her death. The night before her death, Goo Hara uploaded a photograph of her and captioned it: “Good Night.”

Before her death, Goo Hara had been through a very difficult period. She faced a legal battle with her ex-boyfriend for violent assault. Her ex-boyfriend also threatened to release their sex videos.

Goo Hara and her ex-boyfriend, a renowned hairstylist named Choi Jong Bum met when they appeared on a beauty program TV show My Mad Beauty Diary hosted by Goo Hara. They shared similar interests in fashion and beauty. During the recording, they had gotten closer and started a romantic relationship.

In May 2019, she attempted suicide at her house. Luckily, her manager found out early enough, contacted the police and rushed her to hospital. She recovered from the suicide attempt and apologized to fans.
